Avid nerd. Canna mom. Anime freak. Horror enthusiast. Film buff.

Back in 1959 Walt Disney Productions released it’s 16th animated feature film, Sleeping Beauty, and it had what, in my opinion, was the scariest Disney villain of all time, Maleficent. Maleficent was a horned evil fairy who lived in a crumbling castle on top of a mountain, could transform into a dragon, and called herself “the Mistress of All Evil”. If all of that doesn’t scream bad ass, I don’t know what does. One of the main things that set Maleficent apart from her villainous cohorts was her motive. She literally tried to curse a baby to death because she…

Horror nerds rejoice! The third installment of James Wan’s wildly popular horror series is finally beginning the filming process. On working on Annabelle Comes Home, as well as in Conjuring 3 Vera Farmiga, who will be reprising her role as Lorraine Warren, alongside Patrick Wilson as her character’s husband Ed, has been quoted by EW saying, “Conjuring 3 will be a doozy. It will be big. So for me, visiting these characters, it’s like practicing your scales and doing a few arpeggios before having to dive deep into the next one. Because the next one is massive”. For the second…

Have you ever wanted to talk to someone after finishing an amazing anime, only to find that absolutely no one else watched it and no one wants to talk about it? Well, you’re in good company because this happens to me constantly. These are my top ten criminally underrated anime. Emphasis on the MY part, because everyone has their own tastes and opinions and what tickles my pickle may not necessarily tickle yours. Anyway, onward, to the anime! 10. Shattered Angels Now, I know what you’re about to say. This anime sucked. But, did it really? I actually really loved…

American Horror Story show runner Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the witches will be back for season 10 of American Horror Story. American Horror Story usually follows an anthology formula, where each season has its own unique plot and cast of characters, that are usually played by the same actors. Last year they decided to shake things up with the Murder House (season one) and Coven (season three) crossover season, Apocalypse. Season eight (Apocalypse) saw the return of Tate Langdon and Vivien Harmon’s son, Michael, as he grows into his role as the Antichrist. The witches of Coven also make…

In 1981 Alvin Schwartz released the first in a series of terrifying “kids” books called Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. These books were groundbreaking in the way that it was the first series of truly scary stories for kids, and the illustrations, done by Stephen Gammell, were truly gruesome. Fast forward 38 years, and three books later, and we are finally getting a film adaptation! In 2013 CBS Films gained the rights to turn Alvin Schwartz’s tales of terrifying fiction into reality on the big screen, with the aid of Guillermo del Toro in the role of director.…

I like many others just got back from seeing Disney’s newest live action remake Aladdin, and I am still in awe over it. But not for the reasons you might be thinking. Oh sure, the music was great and the nostalgia factor was totally there but I’m talking about our new feminist icon, Princess Jasmine, or should I say Sultan of Agrabah. That’s right, they made Jasmine the freaking Sultan! But let’s backtrack a bit and talk about how we got there. We meet Jasmine, played by the stunning and amazingly talented Naomi Scott, she’s in the marketplace in disguise,…
