On July 30th Deadline.com reported that Diane Guerrero will be joining the cast of DC’s upcoming show Doom Patrol. You might remember Guerrero from Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black. She plays Maritza Ramos, Flaca’s witty and internet obsessed best friend. Guerrero is set to take up the mantle of Crazy Jane, a woman who possess multiple personalities, sixty four of them to be exact. Then to add a little twist, each one has super powers, making her a valuable, yet dangerous commodity. Crazy Jane enters the ensemble that features lesser known characters in DC like Robotman, Negative Man, and…

Welcome back to another edition of Nerdbot’s continuing coverage of DC’s epic Watchmen integration, Doomsday Clock. I hope you didn’t think I was kidding when I said we are in this until the bitter end because as the halfway point in the series is among us, there’s no turning back now! I’ll say this until I die, the bi-monthly release format sucks. But for those of you who haven’t given up, I hope you are happy, because I definitely am. So let’s start the discussion and yes, there are spoilers. For now, let’s think of Doomsday Clock like a television…

Please make this happen! On July 23rd Variety.com reported that legendary actor Robert De Niro is in talks to come aboard the recently green lit Joaquin Phoenix Joker project. The article describes the role as a game show host, who plays a significant part with the development of our favorite smiling crime syndicate. Variety cites a comparison to The King Of Comedy, a 1982 Martin Scorsese picture about this sort-of up and coming comedian (De Niro) who takes a talk show host hostage (perfectly portrayed by Jerry Lewis, yes that one) as part of a underlying plot to get on…

It’s not even Comic-Con yet and the folks over at Warner Brothers are already rolling out the headlines. First, the Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie (which I personally thought was never going to happen) got green lit. Quite possibly the first step in a major DCEU facelift. We’ve seen a couple photos of Shazam! and the Aquaman poster, but what really peaked my interest was the announcement of Birds Of Prey. If you’re fortunate enough to attend the festivities in San Diego this weekend, I hope you don’t feel short changed on the show. DC fans will get a first look…

I’ve somehow managed to see Weezer in concert three out of the last four years and each time I’m surprised at exactly how great this band has become over the course of my life. You remember Weezer right? Well they’re still going strong, touring again, headlining festivals, even released a new album in 2017. What’s unusual about the most recent Weezer show I’ve attended is the heavy felt deja vu that struck me the moment the lit up flying “W” dropped down from above. I’m fully aware the spoofed Van Halen decoration is as synonymous to the band as Rivers…

It finally happened… Warner Brothers gave the green light to the Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie. The news broke on July 10th via TheHollywoodReporter soon to be followed by major media outlets including us here at Nerdbot. In case you missed it, I’ll breakdown everything real quick; we are getting a standalone, non-DCEU affiliated story, telling the origin of the Clown Prince Of Crime. Todd Phillips co-wrote the script with Scott Silver (The Fighter) and is going to direct. Martin Scorsese appears to no longer be a producer but Richard Baratta alongside Emma Tillinger Koskoff will handle those responsibilities. Here’s where…

When your passion Alien project falls through, you go Robocop. The script was originally penned by them as a sequel to the first film (not the Joel Kinnaman one) but never amounted to anything until now. Justin Rhodes, the guy who wrote the most recent Terminator movie, will provide a rewrite of the material. Deadline’s…

Netflix did it again! I just wrapped up with season two of Luke Cage and just when I think the Marvel Machine has lost its steam, they deliver on what I believe to be one of their finest television achievements. If you’re looking for an official ranking type thing here it goes; 1) Jessica Jones (S1), 2) Daredevil (S1), 3) Luke Cage (S2), 4) The Punisher, 5) Daredevil (S2) Yes, I believe the second run of Luke Cage is up that high on the list of the MCTVU which is guess is technically part of the MCU but we can…

Blumhouse’s upcoming Spawn reboot just got a brand new cast member. Hawkeye himself, Jeremy Renner will double dip superhero universes and stand alongside Jamie Foxx in the film. The news comes via Deadline.com on July 9th. Renner will join a select group of actors like J.K. Simmons who are featured in projects derived from different comic source material.
