Here’s something different… BleedingCool.com reported on July 5th that DC Comics will be unveiling a brand new book entitled Anatomy Of A Metahuman this September. No it’s not another new series to compliment Dark Knights Metal or Doomsday Clock, but a 160 page cataloguing of some of the famous faces from our favorite superhero adventures. Imagine a diary format, handwritten words, with none other than Batman providing the commentary and Leonardo Da Vinci-esque illustration. Who knew the Dark Knight had such skills. Though I hope he doesn’t hang up the cape and cowl to pursue art full time. Gotham City…

I’m almost wrapped up with watching season two of Luke Cage on Netflix. Believe me, I could’ve easily saved what we’re about to discuss today for a later piece but it’s too important to the future of Marvel television. During episode ten titled “The Main Ingredient”, we get a surprise guest appearance from Iron Fist, The Defender that nobody cares about. We all know why… the inaugural run could easily be considered a rare flop in the MCU. Yes I’m counting Inhumans too, god that show sucked ass. If Disney was going to bomb, thank God they are bombing on…

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is on Netflix now. For some us, the news is good. For others… not so much. Definitely the most polarizing Star Wars film to date. I’ve noticed throughout my life there are movies that seem to get better in the second and third viewings. Especially when you’ve had some time to absorb what you saw during your initial trip to the theater. It might take reading a bunch of articles on the internet trumpeting a film’s genius to sway your emotions. Or you got this one friend who’s been all in on Rian Johnson since…

Ah Jared Leto, an Academy Award winner, frontman of a surprisingly popular screamo band, and someone for the life of me I will never understand. You might remember last month when Warner Brothers announced Leto would be producing and starring in a solo Joker movie. This only added to the mania going on over at the studio as they now had multiple Joker projects in development with no real movement to report. So what does this guy go and do? According to Vulture.com, the skinny prince is now switching universes to become Morbius in another Spider-Man spinoff from Sony. Daniel…

Remember way back when Peter Jackson was going to be the one who brought Microsoft’s staple video game Halo to life? For all Master Chief enthusiasts this was the news to end all news. The guy behind the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy making a Halo movie, those words simply sound beautiful just reading them. Unfortunately the Halo project became the gamer equivalent of waiting for George R.R. Martin to release The Winds Of Winter. When you think something is going to happen, it doesn’t. A producer might have secured funding, then he didn’t. They have a script, but nobody’s…

Currently I’m doing one of those “post ten movies that have made an impact on you things” you see in the Facebook community every now and then. Usually I’m not the type of guy to willingly participate in a modern equivalent of a chain letter but this time I figured, why not? Day #1 was Tim Burton’s Batman, an obvious choice for a thirty four old DC enthusiast like myself. We’re not going to discuss the greatness of the film today, it speaks for itself and still holds up, even after all this time. While I’m googling the perfect movie…

Still waiting to meet someone who didn’t like last year’s remake of Stephen King’s IT. Like most successful projects, especially ones with source material that goes for over a thousand pages, you can assume a sequel will be green-lit sooner than later. IT made over seven hundred million dollars on a budget of only thirty-five, so you bet they’re making another movie. Throughout the last six months the rumor wheel in the sky really started turning as fans cried out to the heavens of the internet for their favorite candidates to portray grown up versions of the story’s losers turned…

No Marvel? No HBO? Yes, it’s true. Two powerhouses, both alike in dignity, will not be attending the 2018 installment of the San Diego Comic-Con. I know right? Who the hell do these people think they are? I mean, I’m not going but one of my favorite times in the summer is for three days, the entertainment industry just butters you up with all kinds of announcements, celebrity panels, and most importantly… trailers. In my opinion, it’s actually a genius move on behalf of HBO and Marvel. Both studios are approaching a crucial period for each intellectual property. Game Of…

You know Chris Hardwick right? Remember him on MTV’s Singled Out? Or how about AMC’s Talking Dead? The ever growing category of men in Hollywood who have committed or been accused of sexual misconduct, just added another member. On June 14th, Medium.com published an article by Chloe Dykstra detailing a Phantom Thread from Hell-esque relationship between herself and famed talk show host. And dude, this is some messed up shit. I will note that while not being mentioned by name, key details suggest the identity of the abuser to be Hardwick. To read the piece in Chloe’s voice (and you…

The last couple of years I’ve been in a major love/hate relationship with now former President and Chief Creative Officer Of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns. And he’s from Detroit… rust belt pride yo! I can admit the man is a genius when it comes to the comics, but in the film category? Well, we all know what’s going on there. As I’ve said it before, Warner Brothers is a multi-billion dollar company and you don’t get to be a big time player in the film industry without learning from your mistakes. Remember Batman & Robin? Unfortunately I do too, they…
