Adam Chmielewski is the latest Mid-Western transplant to take up residence in the City Of Angels. Aside from contributing to Nerdbot, he’s writing screenplays for film and television. Just like everyone else in Los Angeles.

The cast of Doom Patrol just added another person to an already impressive roster of personalities. This week, Deadline.com reported that none other than Timothy Dalton, yes, James Bond, Rocketeer villain, and the dude from Penny Dreadful will join the show on the upcoming streaming platform DC Universe. Dalton is set to play Dr. Niles Caulder aka “The Chief”, the leader guy of Doom Patrol. If you’re talking special powers, unfortunately the Chief doesn’t have anything too flashy, just a case of being really smart. Don’t worry folks, that vast intelligence has translated to incredible wealth, which gives him the…

Did you know Fathom was a best selling comic back in 1998? I had no idea either. Just a little factoid for you as we begin another round of discussion about the latest from Aspen Comics. This week we turn our eyes to Fathom, a signature series from Aspen that if were a human, would soon be able to buy alcohol. Twenty years and still going strong. We begin Fathom Vol. #7 Issue #2, titled Enemy Of My Enemies at a casino in China where Chance Calloway is patronizing the bar while looking for his target. Contact is made and…

If you were to tell me that a hundred or so miles outside of Los Angeles lies a place where your childhood dreams and nightmares come to life… I’d probably believe it. As the City Of Angels most recent Cleveland transplant not named LeBron James, I am slowly realizing Southern California has everything. Literally everything. Though I’ve only been a resident of the Golden State for a few weeks, I had a couple experiences worth telling you all about, and RoboLights might be the best one yet! Over the holiday weekend my girlfriend and I took a trip to Palm…

It’s crazy how one of popular comic book franchises in history can go through so much drama. Well folks… get ready because we’re in for another exciting installment of “what’s going on with Batfleck?” I can almost hear a studio audience saying that in unison like a bit on a a late night talk show. Earlier this week ConsequenceOfSound.net reported a sort of update from our favorite walking rumor mill Ben Affleck. Now the focus centers on Warner Brothers’ insurance liability when it comes to keeping a recovering alcoholic in their stable. Remember, he’s been to rehab, twice… in less…

We’re back with another review from our friends over at Aspen Comics. This time, I’m here to discuss the latest issue of Dissension: War Eternal. Chapter two, titled Architects Of The Apocalypse continues the story of renegade angels who came down from the heavens to stop an epic war. We begin the story in a snowy mountain terrain. There’s this dude having a merry old time getting drunk by himself when one of our renegade angels, Saravati appears. He tells her of a vision featuring a tundra warrior named Sangilak who led a group of men on a mission to…

Kevin Smith, we all know who he is. For over twenty years the man has done pretty much everything you can do in show business; director, actor, writer, and of course, perpetual podcaster. He’s been on so many podcasts you’d wonder how he had the time to recover from an unfortunate heart attack, then lose all that weight. No joke, he looks great! Congratulations bro. He recently shared a photo on Instagram. Deadline.com reported last week that Silent Bob himself will be getting a show to be aired on DC’s new streaming service, DC Universe. Warner Brothers is going to…

This week Nerdbot was fortunate enough to do a review trilogy of the latest from our friends at Aspen Comics. I got to check a brand new series called Artifact One as well as the most recent issue of the Soulfire saga. It has been a pleasure getting the opportunity to check out something other than the regular Marvel and DC heroes that populate the shelves of stores. So for our final installment of this week’s round of Aspen Comics releases, we are going to discuss the new issue of Executive Assistant Iris. As this is also my introduction to…

Back in 2003 Soulfire blazed into comic book shops across the nation and has been a staple series for Aspen Comics ever since. I actually learned that from a brief prologue found on page one of “Out Of The Past”, the latest installment of the Soulfire saga. We’re now in Volume 7, the second part of an eight issue run. We begin with the introduction of a magical power found deep in what looks like ancient Mayan ruins somewhere in South America. The last frame shows a multicolored glow of light as that has been dormant for very very long…

On August 22nd, Aspen Comics debuted a brand spanking new series called Artifact One. And guess what? Over here at Nerdbot we were fortunate enough to receive a sneak peek of the inaugural issue, so I thought an appropriate introduction to the run will hopefully motivate you to check it out for yourself. Again a big thank you to Aspen Comics! Artifact One was written/created by J.T. Krul and Vince Hernandez. Art by Romina Moranelli. Letters by Dezi Sienty. A basic summary would be an exploratory tale set in a world where clerics preside over the realm, and rule with…

Brendan Fraser, come on 90’s kids… you remember him. He was the guy who twenty years ago had a monumental run of stoner comedies (Encino Man) and delightfully bad cinema (Bedazzled). Don’t get me wrong, Fraser managed to make a couple classics like Airheads. Then somehow joined a cast of non-A-list talent in Crash and managed to win a Best Picture Oscar. There could easily be a Brendan Fraser movie on TV right now the dude has been in so much stuff. According to an article published by Deadline.com on August 21rst, Mr. George Of The Jungle will join the…
