While we’re still waiting for the final season of Game Of Thrones to premiere, the folks over at HBO are already thinking about the future. It’s no surprise that the word “spinoff” is already being tossed around by the studio. Game Of Thrones could easily be one of the most popular television shows ever, and with a vast ocean of source material to draw from, another trip to Westeros is as guaranteed as Taco Bell craving after a night of partying. An article from Deadline.com on June 11 provides us with an update on the most recent developments in this…

For me, last couple days have been all about the new Halloween trailer. I’ve always been a fan of the series and for not being much of a horror guy, I can’t seem to explain the level of attachment I have to this particular brand of slasher flicks. It’s weird but if I’m seeing a scary movie in the theater that doesn’t feature Michael Myers, it’s usually one which has transcended the built in horror audience or is something too unique, too original, to pass up. A Quiet Place would be the best, most recent example. When it’s Halloween though,…

Oh yes everyone… Michael Myers is back! David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, two dudes known primarily for their outrageous stoner have been given the keys to one of the most iconic horror franchises the movie industry has ever known, John Carpenter’s Halloween. I was a little worried at first. Could you blame me? I mean, what were they going to do? Have Kenny Powers blow lines while throwing fastballs at Michael Myers face? Maybe James Franco gets Michael Myers to forget about killing people by smoking a joint of Pineapple Express with him? Now it’s time to get some…

Have you ever heard the expression “throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks?” That seems to be Warner Brothers’ game plan for restoring critical acclaim to the troubled DC Extended Universe. On June 5th, Deadline.com reported on a potential Suicide Squad spinoff with Jared Leto reprising his role as the Joker. Hollywood’s favorite actor/screamo heartthrob (remember Leto is still in 30 Seconds To Mars) will also dub as the project’s executive producer. No writer, no director, no much of anything yet as Deadline describes this venture as being in “early development”. If you’ve been keeping…

There is a fine line between expressing an opinion and being a total dick. It was reported on June 5th by NME.com that Star Wars: The Last Jedi cast member Kelly Marie Tran has been repeatedly subjected to rigorous online harassment from disgusting, un-laid internet trolls. Racist as hell language filled the character’s “Wookiepedia” page and Paul Ray Ramsey, some alt-right youtube douchebag provided the typical hate speech aimed at the first Asian woman to land a lead role in a galaxy far far away. Then after that, the rhetoric seeped over to her Instagram which got so bad, Tran…

I really hope everyone out there is sticking with DC’s Doomsday Clock. Believe me, I get it. This whole bi/tri-monthly thing sucks and it’s killing me! I find myself having to reread previous issues to remind myself exactly what the hell is going on in the story. It’s a ton of work but man it’s worth it. Personally I didn’t expect to be enjoying the series as much as I am. By the way I’m totally screwed if Winds Of Winter ever comes out. I’ll have to spend a year simply prepping for another chapter in the Song Of Ice…

For the couple of you who were super excited for another Crow movie… Unfortunately I’ve got some bad news. Deadline.com reported on May 31rst that Sony’s reboot of Alex Proyas’ 1994 cult classic AF film The Crow has experienced a major setback. Lead actor Jason Momoa and director Corin Hardy both exited the project in a double shot of departure. The article describes a few different factors such as creative differences, financial issues, even something about losing a distributor. Whatever is going on has postponed production indefinitely. Insert Crow not flying or Crow grounded joke here __________________! There, hope you…

It can be really easy to forget that there are superheroes who have nothing to do with the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes. I know right? These days it seems the big screen is dominated by two major comic book publishers in a battle for total and complete box office domination. Honestly it’s not much of a fight, Marvel is practically abusing their counterparts at the moment but who knows, maybe the future will allow room for new faces. Which brings me to a juicy little piece of news brought to us from the folks over at Deadline.com who on…

Damon Lindelof… just like Lost, you really know how to get everyone talking. Yes I am all in on Lindelof’s upcoming Watchmen project with HBO (remember, I’m the guy who thought Zack Snyder’s movie was okay) but I will say the developments from last week leave a ton of room for conversation. An interesting piece of news hit the Internet on May 22nd in the form of a letter written by Lindelof to the fans. TheHollywoodReporter took all the good parts and condensed it down, or if you want the whole thing, check out Damon’s Instagram. So much is covered…

I don’t think any us DC fans are asking for the level of genius we’ve gotten from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we just want a good movie! With the past behind us, those like me look toward the future. Aquaman is six months away, the Wonder Woman sequel is moving forward, and maybe Suicide Squad 2 will erase the god awful mess we got back in 2016. In this time of DC disarray, an unlikely superstar may be born in Shazam. They might have found a new hero that can appeal to a mass audience as well as be family…
