Ron Perlman (Apple’s Cape Fear) has joined the cast of Amazon MGM’s upcoming horror film Seasons. The film is based on a viral horror short story by Matt and Harrison Query. Drew Hancock (Companion) writes and directs this film adaptation.
Seasons centers around a married couple who are able to buy their dream ranch. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true, and the land houses ancient spirits. For them to survive, they must perform increasingly disturbing rituals each season. Will they be able to break the horrific cycle, or will they succumb to it?
The original short story first appeared on Reddit and was later adapted into a full-length novel. Now it completes the Hollywood cycle by becoming a movie. Adapting internet media for the big screen is the latest trend and so far has yielded strong results like Backrooms.
Perlman will star alongside Lily James (Swiped) and Jack Reynor (Citadel).
Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing Seasons for 21 Laps. Jason Blum and Michael Clear produce for Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Scott Glassgold will produce for 12:01 Films with Dan Cohen.
