No matter how much negative criticism the DC Extended Universe gets in the world, it shows zero signs of stopping anytime soon. Ever since Justice League failed to meet the expectations of critics and audiences, it seems like the central topic of conversation at Warner Brothers is once again; the future. As a fan, I’m personally hoping the studio puts the Zack Snyder era behind them and focus on the days ahead which I believe to be ripe with potential. Aquaman is less than a year away. The Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman sequels are in development. Don’t forget about…

So, it looks like Black Panther will be another notch of success on the belt of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to EW.com the film has sold more advance tickets than any superhero movie ever and I’m sure will dominate the box office beginning February 16th. As if the mastermind Kevin Feige wasn’t already defining then redefining the superhero genre, now the MCU may breathe new life into what I believed to be a declining, but integral part of any film, the soundtrack. How might one do that? Honestly it’s a little bit of a task and I will save…

Have you noticed that FX has really stepped up their game when it comes to original content? Even though they might not have the packed full trophy room full of Emmy Awards like HBO, however the network has been grinding out some of the most talked about and acclaimed shows on television. Reporting on February 1rst from AVClub.com gave us a light preview of what is to come in 2018, through what’s known as a sizzle reel. If you are unfamiliar with the terminology it’s basically a demo tape used to highlight various elements of a project, or in this…

So they’re making another Purge movie? If you were to ask me back in 2013 if I ever thought there would be a sequel to The Purge? I would have said hell no. It’s not that I thought the movie was bad. Actually I found the original Purge to be quite entertaining but I didn’t know if the film would have staying power or get lost in the usual sea of Hollywood offerings. Boy was I wrong, The Purge was a hit! The idea of a twenty-four period where all laws are suspended and a story centered around a family…

They passed Mr. Ryan’s History class, came back from the dead, beat Primus in a battle of the bands… so what’s next? Another chapter in the compelling saga of Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan is something I’ve always felt was long over due. It’s a topic discussed in smoking circles amongst friends for many years. You may even remember a 2011 article from SlashFilm.com covering an urban legend about how the Pauly Shore stoner classic Bio Dome, was once supposed to be Bill & Ted 3 before the script was reworked. Damn urban legends, why can’t you…

For as big as a Kaiju Monster movie fan as I am, it still surprises me that Pacific Rim is getting a sequel. Now, I’m aware the original did really bad with critics and audiences here in the States, but in Asia, not so much. It was quite the opposite actually, Pacific Rim did so well the overseas numbers practically saved the franchise and on January 24th the second trailer for director Steven S. DeKnight’s Pacific Rim: Uprising hit the Internet. Check it out below!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8BAhwgjMvnM Though I don’t believe it’s the greatest thing ever, if you’re a fan on…

John Cena is kinda the man… actually, he is the man! One of the most popular dual threats of entertainment industry is the pro-wrestler turned Hollywood actor. Granted most of the time these guys land roles like Big Dude #3 or Villain’s Muscle Man but occasionally someone like Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock comes around and becomes the most recognizable face on the planet. While a couple wrestlers are in the mix, John Cena could be in line for the WWE to movie star treatment. We’ve seen him as the tough guy in The Marine, then he’s been cast in…

Dude, who doesn’t love Funko figures? Come on… you know you do. Even if you’re not a hardcore collector dedicating whole walls to this stuff, you probably got at least one sitting around somewhere. I personally believe the San Diego Comic Con experience cannot be completed without purchasing as many SDCC exclusive Funkos as possible. So when I heard about what Funko is rolling out next, I had to see it to believe it! SlashFilm.com reported on January 19th that a new line of Jurassic Park inspired Funko figures is on the horizon. Of course there will be a Raptor…

Doesn’t it seem like movies go from the theater to DVD way faster than they used to? Well on February 13, digital retailers will be selling The Justice League. Less than 90 days from the film’s release date. I’m in my 30’s and it feels like forever ago when you’d have to wait a year to get a copy of a VHS tape from your local Blockbuster Video. Due to the lack of box office dollars, critical acclaim, audience reception, and anything else a movie is supposed to do, I can only imagine the studio is eager to recoup as…
