Are you going to see Ready Player One? What’s crazy is that I really should be excited about this movie. Ready Player One has pretty much all the things it would normally take to get me to the theater; Steven Spielberg, elements of dystopian sci-fi, like every character you’ve ever read or watched, even sprinkle on a little curiosity, and it’s still not enough. Have you ever been here before? Where you should be all about something, but you’re not. It happens to me all the time. Since we’re stuck in a slow news week, I felt I’d share my…

I’ve always wondered when people think is the best time to start advertising a movie. A year away from its release? Eight months? Well we have definitely passed both of the aforementioned thresholds with regards to the upcoming installment to the DC Extended Universe, Aquaman. Set to dive into theaters on December 21, 2018 fans are eagerly awaiting any form of a good movie from Warner Brothers. But what’s a little unusual is lack of buzz about the project for a debut that is now less that seven months away. I do my best to stay on top of the…
By now, I’m sure you’ve all heard the news regarding the closure of a modern Los Angeles pop culture beacon, Meltdown Comics. Yes, it’s happening, rather quickly actually, March 30th to be exact. If you’re just finding out about this, I’m sorry. Believe me I hate to be the guy who throws your memories in a blender. The folks over at Nerdist.com published a goodbye letter from Meltdown Comics owner Gaston Dominguez-Letelier which you can check out by clicking the link. Yep… it’s a sad day for pop culture. So I know what you guys are thinking; “dude, don’t you…
Alright guys, I’ve done two pieces on Avengers: Infinity War this week so it’s time to turn my attention back to my favorite troubled developing cinematic universe known as the DCEU. Couple of quick things to bring to your attention on what I feel if done right, could be a big time hit for Warner Brothers… Shazam! Ok, so right now the project is shooting in Toronto and if you do a google search, you’ll probably find a decent amount of cell phone taken photos of the set, maybe even some of Zachary Levi rocking the full costume. No joke,…
Three words… Avengers: Infinity War! I don’t know about you but I’m still coming down from that amazing trailer we got last week. If you’re going through withdrawals, it’s okay, no judgment here. In fact, let’s watch it again! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NWepvH6LnEw If I had the remote that Adam Sandler had in Click, I’d be holding the fast forward button all the way until April 27th. It’s pretty much a given that Avengers: Infinity War will top every box office feat ever established. Guess what? They already have broken one with regards to advanced ticket sales. Reporting from Deadline.com says that the…
Who remembers the greatness of Nickelodeon television shows? You know what I’m talking about… Ren & Stimpy, Alex Mack, All That, my eyes are watering up at the nostalgic thought of how I used to spend my weekends as a kid. Such a memorable time that the network has caught the reboot bug and has decided to give some of their most infamous programs another go. Which brings us to a great piece of news brought to you by the folks over at TheHollywoodReporter who have unveiled plans for an upcoming season of Clarissa Explains It All. That’s right! Melissa…
Man this is a good one… Hopefully you’re all counting down the days until April 27th when the grand mack daddy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War hits the theaters. Since we are a little over a month away, now’s the time when things really get moving and we’ll be seeing all kinds of marketing. Whether it’s more promo shots, toys, posters, interviews, there will be plenty for us to chew on until the big day arrives. On March 16th, the folks over at Disney dropped another trailer for the film and dude is it incredible! If you…
I keep forgetting Nicholas Cage still acts. It’s nuts because the guy has been in a whole bunch of movies lately, even Dog Eat Dog which was filmed in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Yes, the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola graced the Forest City with his presence a couple years ago and you know what? If you weren’t on the production staff, you’d never know he was even here. Cage didn’t even do one Nicholas Cage type thing while he was in town. Kind of disappointing. I expected him to be sitting in Slyman’s Tavern eating a corned beef…
First off, congratulations to Roger Deakins!! Dude’s a legendary Cinematographer with fourteen Academy Award nominations and one, I repeat, one win for his work on 2017’s Blade Runner 2049. The film is such a visual juggernaut it’s worth a watch even you don’t get down on science fiction. Deakins saw glory a couple weeks ago adding that golden statue to his already long list of achievements. His repeated snubbing ranks amongst the greatest of “is this the year?” Oscar storylines to date. If it were to be a sexier category say… Best Director, the story would’ve garnered attention like a…
There’s been so much coverage of Black Panther and the Infinity War trailers lately, the Marvel Netflix shows had completely slipped my mind. Honestly I’ve been a little hesitant to get more involved with them because it’s unclear if the likes of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and the Punisher will be pulled from Netflix to find a new home on Disney’s soon to debut streaming service. Let’s hope not! I don’t know about you but I’m a fan of what’s happening on the small screen. Not only are these shows badass, they feed my need for superhero content until…
