We can’t get enough Michael Keaton round these parts. Seriously, with his return to Batman coming in “The Flash,” his new film “The Protégé” about to hit theaters, it’s always great to see that cheeky and mysterious grin.
One of the more underrated performances in Keaton’s lexicon is arguably Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture, from “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” A role we’re VERY excited to report he’s reprising for the upcoming Sony flick “Morbius.”
During a chat with The Hollywood Reporter (which fans of Keaton’s should absolutely read, it’s delightful), the actor confirmed his return to the role in the upcoming vampire film starring Jared Leto as the notable Spider-Man foil. He describes director Daniel Espinosa trying to talk him through the various relevant Marvel Cinematic Universe plot points and beats.
“I’m nodding like I know what the fuck they’re talking about. I go, ‘Uh-huh.’ And I’m thinking, ‘You may as well be explaining quantum physics right now to me. All I know is I just know my guy. And I know the basics.’
So finally, they were looking at me, and they just started laughing. They said, ‘You don’t know what we’re talking about, do you?’ I said, ‘No, I don’t, no idea what you’re talking about.’“
So, while we’re still hopeful that maybe the long gestating “Sinister Six” project comes to fruition with Keaton’s Toomes involved, we’re happy the Vulture will fly again.
Not to mention, Batman!
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is still currently set to hit theaters on December 17th, 2021. Sony’s “Morbius” on January 19th 2022, and Warner Bros. “The Flash“ on November 4th 2022..
