There’s a petition going around asking for Brie Larson to step down from her role as Captain Marvel. In the petition, it states, “We need Brie Larson to step down from her role to prove she is an ally of social justice and ensure a gay woman of color plays the role.” The full petition can be found in the link below. https://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/972/607/589/ Although Captain Marvel made over a billion dollars worldwide, there are those who dislike Brie Larson in the role. Some of this stems from Brie stating she wanted more women and people of color both in film…

SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War ahead, read with caution. If you’ve seen Avengers: Endgame, then you saw that Captain America was able to lift Thor’s hammer and kick some major butt with it. According to MCU lore, only those “worthy” can wield mjolnir, but then why was he unable to lift it in Avengers: Age of Ultron? Co-Director of the new film, Anthony Russo, said in a recent interview that, “Cap’s sense of character and his sense of humility, sort of out of deference to Thor’s ego, … Cap in that moment, realizing he can move…

When a movie ends, one wonders if they can pick up their popcorn tub and head to the restroom or is there something worth sticking around for to see. Well when it comes to Pokémon Detective Pikachu: Nope! The word is that there’s no bonus scenes to tease further movies. There are some creative credits that pay tribute to the O.G. Pokémon Games and the anime series, but other then a long list of computer animators, not much else. Maybe use the saved time to take a walk and chat about the fun film you just watched!

On Friday April 26th, Netflix announced it will not order a fourth season of the Santa Clarita Diet. It’s only been a month after the third season was released and the rates are solid, so why is this show going away? For those of you unfamiliar with Santa Clarita Diet, it stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as two perky, if not dorky realtors. Drew Barrymore’s character gets turned into a zombie and wacky hijinks ensure as the couple try to find bad people for them to eat. It’s kind of like a funnier, supernatural version of Dexter. As a…

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is coming to Disneyland Anaheim May 31, 2019, and it is getting some cool beverages. Coca-Cola has redesigned some of its drinks to fully immerse attendees into the new land, but how original are they? The spherical shape seems to be the same as the Holiday Coke Bottles. Various years around December, one was able to find Coco-Cola bottles that resemble bulbs that folks like to hang from Christmas Trees (though they don’t include hooks or string because they are too heavy to hang when full.) The rest of the new Star Wars bottles are rather…

Disney’s streaming service is coming this year, but those that heralded that it will include Disney’s entire library find themselves eating crow right now, pun intended. According to an exclusive run by Boardwalktimes.net It appears that the O.G. Dumbo will edit out all of the crow scenes, and Song of the South will be excluded in its entirety. Both include controversial racial content, so one can see why Disney would exclude it. However, both include decent songs, Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah won an Oscar! Like many, all I have experienced of Song of the South is the song. “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” is a catchy tune,…

Considered one of the best video games of all time, Knights of the Old Republic is getting an update, but we don’t know in what form yet. In an interview at Star Wars Celebration, Kathleen Kennedy, the head of Lucusfilm, said that “we are developing something” in regards to KOTOR. A rather brief statement, but it opens up many possibilities. If I had to wager a guess as to what kind of project was coming based on Disney’s handling of Lucasfilm, I’d say it would be a tv series to help bolster Disney+, but a film series is just as…

So here’s the situation: The Writer’s Guild of America believes that talent agents are not keeping with their writers best interest. Agents can get money from studios for keeping script costs low, or even sell a script to themselves which might result in the writer not receiving the best deal. WGA was in talks with the Association of Talent Agents, wanting them to sign a new Code of Conduct to prevent such conflicts of interests. ATA refused, so WGA told it’s movie and TV writers to fire their agents, which many have. So what does that mean for fans and…

The original Hellboy (2004), had a mid-credits scene featuring Jeffory Tambor. In it he is looking around the bad guy’s labyrinth, wondering where everyone went. An okay throw-away joke at best. You can currently watch the the old Hellboy on Netflix. YES! The new Hellboy does have post credits scenes. Both a mid-credits scene and one at the very end. If you do stick around for these scenes, please consider picking up your soda and popcorn bag. The ushers have less time to clean between showings and by helping take out the big stuff, they can focus on sweeping up the…

Disney’s new streaming service is adding yet another MCU inspired series. In addition to a Loki, Scarlet Witch & Vision, and Falcon & Winter Soldier series with all the original actors reprising their roles, Disney+ is working on a Hawkeye limited series starring Jeremy Renner. Sources say that the show will include the Marvel comics character Kate Bishop and center around Hawkeye training her. I’m rather excited for this series. We have seen the character wielding a sword, in the trailers for the new Avengers: Endgame film. Add that to his bow and arrow which I feel is more cinematic…
