NBCUniversal is in the process of suing a group who has hijacked their ability to own the name Dunder Mifflin. As many know, Dunder-Mifflin is the name of the fictional company from the classic sitcom “The Office.” Surprisingly, NBCUniversal did not have a comprehensive trademark for the name, which allowed people to sell unlicensed merchandise. The Cinerama Dome will probably be reopening sometime in the near future. Last year, The Decurion Group, which has owned the Hollywood landmark for decades, filed for bankruptcy. Filmmaker Michael Bay is working with producer Brad Fuller and Universal Pictures to bring back Platinum Dunes. For those unfamiliar, Platinum Dunes is Bay’s personal production studio that worked primarily in horror and science fiction. They had a lot of success with reboots such as “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” in 2003 and “Friday the 13th” in 2009.
