Both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” have broken more than one box office record this past weekend. The two films have both have grossed over $80 million in their opening weekend. Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” has made over $194 million (domestic), a new record for a film directed by a woman. Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” has made $80.5 million. Both films have globally netted $356 million and $180 million, marking this the 4th highest-grossing box office weekend of all time. Universal Studios’ Orlando Resort is opening a new section to the park next year. DreamWorks Land will feature characters from “Trolls,” “Shrek,” and “Kung Fu Panda.” The new section will span four acres, with the hope it will revitalize the KidsZone area of the resort. At this time an official opening date has not been set, but Universal Studios promises more information will be revealed soon. A Delia Deetz original sculpture was stolen from the set of “Beetlejuice 2” in Vermont. The 150lb. statue was taken, along with a lamppost topped with a distinct pumpkin decoration. Vermont State Police are asking the public for help locating the stolen pieces. “Beetlejuice 2” is the highly anticipated, long-awaited sequel to the 1988 original Tim Burton cult sensation. The best of both Dreamworlds is coming to Epic Games’ “Fortnite” in the form of a Barbenheimer themed map. This marketing combination of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” is mostly due to the fact both movies are opening in theaters this weekend. Prime Video dropped the season 2 trailer for “Invincible” at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Fans have waited over two years to learn what happened after the shocking betrayal and showdown of season 1. Fast food giant Taco Bell is asking fans to vote on new catchphrases for their iconic sauce packets. Rewards Members can vote through the app. The poll opens on July 23rd and the most popular catchphrases will be revealed the next day. Some phrases that rewards members can vote on are “Entering my _____ era,” “What’s your @,” and “If you won’t, then I will,” according to a press release. Anchor Brewing Co. executives announced the iconic brewery would be shutting down on Wednesday, July 12th. The oldest craft brewery in the United States is located in San Francisco, and has been in business for 127 years. Many patrons and employees were upset about the news, some even put in bids to take over ownership. A brief letter was sent to Sapporo USA President, Mike Minami, by the business agent for Anchor Brewing Union.
