A Delia Deetz original sculpture was stolen from the set of “Beetlejuice 2” in Vermont. The 150lb. statue was taken, along with a lamppost topped with a distinct pumpkin decoration. Vermont State Police are asking the public for help locating the stolen pieces.

“Beetlejuice 2” is the highly anticipated, long-awaited sequel to the 1988 original Tim Burton cult sensation. The sequel will feature returning cast Catherine O’Hara, Wynona Rider, and Michael Keaton. Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and also star Willem Dafoe. Though majority of the filming for the movie is being done in the U.K., the production came to Vermont for some exterior shots. Filming has been stopped for the time being due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

It is unknown if the sculpture taken is the 1988 original, or a very good recreation from the sequel. You can only imagine the reasoning behind taking the iconic artwork, but I don’t think it’ll be fenced. If a diehard “Beetlejuice” fan took it, it’s probably going to be used for cosplay pictures. Or for the ultimate spooky house decoration.

Many fans remember the iconic scene of the sculpture pinning Delia Deetz (O’Hara) to the garage. The other memorable scene is the sculpture coming to life and holding Delia still during the wedding. The “dangerous” artwork also had many background scene, just looking like the creepy masterpiece it is.

If anyone happens to see the sculpture, which is very obviously “Beetlejuice,” they are urged to contact Vermont State Police. Please call 802-748-3111 with any information. “Beetlejuice 2″ is currently scheduled to hit theaters September 6th, 2024.
