As the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes continue, a food bank in Arlington Heights is offering free groceries to union members. The WGA strike began in May, with SAG-AFTRA joining the picket lines last week. One SAG-AFTRA member, Kristina Wong, started to worry about how her fellow union members would be able to keep food on their tables. Wong reached out to Glen Curado, founder and CEO of World Harvest. 2-time Oscar winner (accused of multiple sexual assault cases) Kevin Spacey took to the witness box during his United Kingdom trial at Southwark Crown Court. He claims the relationship with one of his alleged victims was “somewhat intimate.” The trial of Spacey’s alleged sexual assault took focus on one of four victims, who accuses the “House of Cards” star of “aggressively” grabbing at his crotch in the early 2000s. An aggressive five-year-old female sea otter is wrestling away surfboards off the coast of Santa Cruz, California. She is aggressively going after people, like surfers and kayakers, which has caused the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to label her as a public safety risk. Videos and photos show the marine mammal getting on top of surfboards. One instance shows her biting off chunks of the board. Experts working for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife have teaming with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, hoping to capture and re-home the otter. “Medusa Deluxe” the new dark comedy from A24 released a new trailer full of surprises. This is writer and director Thomas Hardiman’s first feature film. Hardiman has worked on many shorts dating back to 2012. The British whodunnit is set backstage at a hairdressing competition. Former employees of Twitter have sued owner Elon Musk and the company over alleged non-payment of promised severance packages. The lawsuit was filed on July 12th in the U.S. District for the Northern District of California on behalf of employees terminated after Musk’s takeover last October. While seeking $500 million in damages, the lawsuit is also seeking orders compelling defendants to “abide all terms of the severance package.” Lead plaintiff and former employee of Twitter’s HR department, Courtney McMillian, is being represented by law firm Sanford Heisler Sharp. Marvel Games is partnering with Electronic Arts (EA) to create a new original, third-person, single-player “Black Panther” game. EA’s studio Cliffhanger Games is handling the development. Cliffhanger is led by Kevin Stephens, the previous studio head Monolith Productions, the developer known for “Shadow of Mordor.” “We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game,” Stephens said in a press release for the title. Steven Reoch has been trying to sell the Antipodes sub for the last five years, and has recently had more motivation to do so. ITN Studios, distributor behind the cult sensation “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” have released some first look images for its new project, “Cinderella’s Curse.” The film is being produced and directed by Louisa Warren, and stars Kelly Rian Sanson, Chrissie Wunna, and Danielle Scott. Harry Boxley (“Mary Had A Little Lamb”) wrote the script. “Cinderella’s Curse” is going to be a spine-chilling reimagining of the classic fairytale. New York Sen. Chuck Schumer has written to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), asking that they investigate the influencer-created drink, PRIME Energy. Health experts and lawmakers have found the viral drink (popular with kids) to hold concerningly high amounts of caffeine, which can cause health problems. Founded by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI, the beverage launched last year. It became a viral success, with children and teens being the main consumers.
