CNN reports that two people were fatally shot during a video game tournament at a shopping and dining complex Sunday in downtown Jacksonville, Florida, Sheriff Mike Williams said. Nine other people suffered gunshot wounds and two people were injured fleeing the area, Williams said. The gunman, identified as 24-year old David Katz, of Baltimore, Maryland, took his own life inside Chicago Pizza after the shooting, the sheriff said. Katz, who was in Jacksonville for the football video game competition, used at least one handgun in the shooting, the sheriff said. CBR.com reports that an interview with the show’s visual effects supervisor, Joe Bauer, has indicated the show’s final season will be eligible for the Emmy race in 2020. Given that the cutoff for Emmy nods is May 31, it appears most, if not all, of the show’s episodes will not be airing until after that date. In a move that is surprising to no one, Disney and Marvel are putting ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ on hold. According to an article from The Hollywood Reporter, crew members, which were assembling for pre-production, are being dismissed and are free to look for new work. The Marvel project was to have been directed by James Gunn and was to have begun principal photography in the winter, either in January or February.
