This is a “Nerd Voices” contributing piece from Nerdbot reader Chris McAuley. You can find him on his video game and comic book blog or Facebook! So, we continue our run up to the spookiest time of the year with a horror movie tie-in from the NES.  The premise behind LJN’s 1989 adaptation of this famous slasher movie doesn’t really make much sense.  It must have been incredibly difficult to craft a decent game and narrative around the wordless killer Jason Voorhees. All he really did in the films was walk around and carve up teenagers.  It comes as no…

Video games are cool. One of my earliest memories was when I got an NES back in 1988. My sister and I loved that thing. Together, we annihilated the original Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge. We power-blasted Mario 2 and Mario 3. We tag teamed Bubble Bobble with a vengeance. And come 1992 when I got the Super Nintendo for my seventh birthday…forget it. I never left my house again. But from 1994-1997 my family moved to Israel and toys stores touting the hottest games were no longer in sight. I was away from all the exciting Nintendo and Sega…

Martin might wish). Doggone it, it’s Jon Snow’s best buddy, his direwolf, Ghost. “Oh, you’ll see (Ghost) again,” Game of Thrones visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer told The Huffington Post. “He has a fair amount of screen time in Season 8.” The surviving direwolves are difficult to work into the show because footage of real wolves is used, and “real wolves only behave in certain ways,” Bauer said. “I think that has something to do…
