Author: Kurt Broz

THE Kurt Broz is not just a personality for Nerdbot, but he's also the editor-in-chief and a real live scientist! Born on the snowy shores of Lake Erie in good ol' Cleveland, Ohio, Kurt Broz has been there and back again, now residing in sunny Southern California. You can find THE Kurt Broz in cosplay, buying comics, hiking, and even writing for Nerdbot and WLFK Productions. He may be a child of the 80's but he is certainly a man of the world.

Contact in the Desert 2018… It WAS aliens. Image: Nerdbot Girl DarthKitty and Giorgio Tsoukalos. But oh, it was so much more. Through a weekend of panels, workshops, experiences, and vendors, Contact in the Desert proved to be a fascinating look at the modern mythology of the alien experience. We in the press were able to experience a weird, fascinating subculture that surrounds aliens and the abductee and contact phenomenon. Oh, and a little bit of governmental disclosure thrown in. Perhaps the best way to revue this event is to focus on 2 very different panels that seemed reasonable but…

Panspermia is essentially a hypothesis stating that life – or the complex molecular precursors of life – originated in space and ended up seeding earth. That is, we are aliens who evolved here. Ancient philosophers considered it. Others debated it, worth chemist Svante Arrhenius fleshing the idea out in 1903. But now scientist are proposing OCTOPUSES ARE KILLER SPACE MUTANTS! According to Steele, et.al. (2018), octopuses might just have arrived here as frozen eggs. As have numerous bacteria and retroviruses and whatever else. Hiccup is Azor Ahai! That’s right, the kid from How to Train Your Dragon is the prince who was promised in A Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones). And the newly released poster for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World proves it! Could the title over a black background be symbolic of the red star bleeding and darkness gathering? “Behold Lightbringer! Azor Ahai has come again!” – Melissandre A young prince who seemingly died, had to hurt a loved one, and has a flaming sword? Sounds like Hiccup to me. And is that an ICE…

Roughly 20 years after the premier of Futurama, he’s returning to animation with Netflix and fantasy cartoon series Disenchantment. Disenchanment premiers as a Netflix original on August 17. It will feature the voice talents of greats like Tress Macneille (The Simpsons, Animainiacs) and Billy West (Ren & Stimpy, Futurama). The plot features a princess, a demon, an elf, and their weird fantasy adventures. Think Futurama meets Game of Thrones, plus zaniness. Also, rapper Briggs is involved.…

The Pokemon game makers have registered 2 new domain names: PokemonLetsGoPikachu and PokemonLetsGoEevee. Domain info from Twitter @Pokekalos. So, there you have it. The Pokemon Switch game will definitely maybe possibly be named Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee. This might help confirm rumors of a game that’s either more in line with the anime or a remake of Pokemon Yellow. Or these domains have nothing to do with the upcoming console jump for the classic Pokemon RPG games. If that’s true, then what WILL Pokemon Let’s Go! be? Hmmm… Will it connect with Pokemon Go? What do you think…

Many celebrities are brilliant in another field. Peter Weller – Robocop – is an art historian. Ken Jeong – The Hangover – is a licensed medical doctor. Brian  May – Queen guitarist – is an astrophysicist. Megan Fox is co-producing a docu-series for Travel Channel about historical myths, so she must be a historian! Wrong. She is a model and an actress. In CosmoGirl! she once stated that she wasn’t much of a believer in formal education, and checked out on her high school one. So, of course she deserves a show where she discusses what parts of history are…

San Diego has one absolutely fantastic convention for true fans of comic books and animation. No, it’s not Comic Con.
