Earlier this week, Paramount+ threw a party to celebrate the revival of Beavis and Butthead, the irreverent comedy brainchild of Mike Judge. The party which came after the successful release of “Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe” back in June, featured the usual things: drinks, friends, and a world record breaking amount of nachos. The nachos, served at Smorgasburg LA on Sunday, September 25th, were recorded as having a final weight of 4,870 pounds (~2209 kg). For reference, an African black rhino weighs in at around 4,600 pounds. That is a truly mind-breaking amount of day-glo orange cheese. A representative…

The German metal band Rammstein has filed a restraining order against Viagogo ahead of their upcoming European tour. The move is intended to crack down on online resellers like Viagogo, which notoriously house scalpers, drive up ticket prices, and make it harder for fans to get in to see shows. Louder reports the injunction was legally actioned by the district court of Hamburg, and effectively prevents the world’s largest ticket reselling platform from legally housing Rammstein tickets. This is actually the second time that the Hamburg court has forbidden Viagogo from touting Rammstein tickets, as frontman Till Lindemann successfully lobbied…

The Chinese Chang’e 5 mission has returned to Earth with a new mineral retrieved from the Moon’s surface. Called Changesite-(Y), the transparent crystal could contain helium-3, an isotype with a wide range of technological uses. Changesite-(Y) is exceedingly tiny, about one-tenth the size of a human hair, and has been described by Chinese news outlet Xinhau as a “kind-of colorless transparent columnar crystal.” Even in such a small sample, though, the presence of helium-3 is potentially world-altering. As more and more areas struggle to produce large amounts of power quickly and efficiently, helium-3 has been proposed as a fuel source…

Vocal icon, show-stopping diva, and bane of retail worker sanity every Christmas season Mariah Carey recorded an honest-to-goodness grunge album back in 1995. Carey provided backing vocals for the original pressing of the album, released under the band name Chick. Turns out that album is getting an official reissue! Many of us learned about the existence of Chick and their debut album “Somebody’s Ugly Daughter” when Carey wrote about it in her 2020 memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey.” Apparently recorded during the sessions for Carey’s 1995 smash “Daydream,” the grunge album was released by Sony/BMG, though it disappeared without a…
