Kevin Hart’s “Funny AF” is Coming to Netflix This Month

Kevin Hart is the judge of a new Netflix comedy competition series. Funny AF with Kevin Hart debuts on April 20, 2026. The prize is no joke, and neither is the official trailer.

Funny AF has assembled an impressive comedy line-up. Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura, Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, and Nikki Glaser serve as special guest judges in the first six episodes. And they don’t come to play. Glaser is the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo for two straight years. Key is the Emmy-winning co-creator of Key and Peele.

The show itself is pretty basic, but it plays out on a bigger stage. The first four episodes drop on April 20, with episodes five and six on April 27. The semi-final and finale are live events held May 4 and 5 at 6 P.M. PT / 9 P.M. ET.

It’s been time for a different kind of improv. Funny AF has live voting in both the semi-final and finale, where viewers everywhere can vote. The audience ultimately picks the winner.

The May 4 and May 5 live shows are also part of the Netflix is a Joke Fest in Los Angeles.

Funny AF contestants face challenges that actually encompass the demanding, reality-of-comedy experience of brutal open-mic sets, bombed performances, last-minute rewrites, and the high stakes of performing on big stages.

The show is produced by HartBeat and Alfred Street Industries, with showrunners Bill Dixon, Liz Cook, San Heng, and Jason Raff.

Netflix’s official synopsis is spot-on. “Kevin Hart knows what it takes to turn a mic and a dream into comedy superstardom,” the wiki says, adding that in Funny AF, he is “searching for the next comedian ready to follow that path.”

Funny AF with Kevin Hart is on Netflix April 20, 2026.
