This weeks’ inauguration was a highly anticipated event for everyone. Coming off a 2 week rollercoaster that rivaled most of 2020 in the beginning of 2021, there was a lot of expectations for what would transpire when the new administration officially took over. But no one, not even the predictive “The Simpsons” could’ve predicted that Bernie Sanders would end up becoming the star of the entire ceremony. Given the complex nature of the scoring system, I think it is only fair to provide a framework for how we reassess films that have earned the dreaded 0% on Rotten Tomatoes like “A Low Down Dirty Shame.” It’s one thing to earn a low score. However, this idea that a genre parody isn’t good because it’s not a Spike Lee critical analysis of social justice is simply absurd…

January and February are a weird time of year for cinema. It’s typically dumping season for studios; the fire sale of movies that will never qualify for the closed awards season but desperately need to get off their shelf. “From Dusk til Dawn” feels oddly out of place and perfect for this time. It’s star studded both in front of and behind the camera and has a decent enough premise that seems more fitting for an October release instead of the “let’s just get this over with” release. And yet, “From Dusk til Dawn” is better than should be even…
