Mega hit “Titanic” turns 25 this year. In celebration, a remastered version of James Cameron’s film- in 3D, 4K, HDR, and high-frame rate- will be hitting theaters.  Disney, who holds the rights for foreign distribution after purchasing 20th Century Fox, will be releasing “Titanic” internationally beginning February 10th, 2023. Paramount, who holds the domestic rights, has not set a date for the US yet. But an announcement is expected soon. NBA all-star Shaquille O’Neal is throwing a one of a kind Halloween bash this October. Shaqtoberfest will take place near probable ghost ship, The Queen Mary, in Long Beach, CA. Shaqtoberfest will be “…the ultimate Halloween destination for family-friendly trick-or-treating, ghoulish games, delicious treats, specialty libations, frightfully fun nighttime haunted trails, and exciting live entertainment that encapsulates O’Neal’s playful personality.” O’Neal is teaming up with ABG Entertainment and Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, the same producers of the annual LA Haunted Hayride. French metal festival Hellfest unveiled a huge metal statue created in memory of Lemmy Kilmister, the late lead singer of Motörhead, and God (well at least according to “Airheads”). Motörhead played the very first Hellfest in Clisson, France and were deeply connected to the event. On June 23rd, festival organizers will unveil a huge statue that will preside over the grounds, and contain some of Kilmister’s ashes. French sculptor Caroline Brisset is responsible for the piece. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced cult filmmaker John Waters will be getting a star on the Walk of Fame. The director is probably best known for “Hairspray,” which was adapted into a Tony Award-winning musical.  Outfest submitted the nomination for Waters. Outfest is a California based nonprofit that provides support to LGBTQIA+ artists. They also organize a film festival in Los Angeles. The organization will be covering the $55,000 fee to have the star installed. “I certainly didn’t imagine any of this happening,” Waters said. “But I wanted to go out and see the world, and at the same time…

In the second half of June, planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will appear in order in the predawn sky. This cosmic event started on June 10th, with Mercury visible over the horizon. Seeing all five planets align will become easier to see as Mercury climbs higher into the sky. That’s right, no telescope or special glasses required. Jason Blum really wants both the “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Friday the 13th” franchises under Blumhouse’s roof. The studio already has the rights to horror touchstones“Halloween” and “The Exorcist.” Blum even believes he could get actor Robert Englund to reprise his role as Freddy Krueger. While promoting the company’s newest film “The Black Phone,” Blum indicated if he could get the rights to “Nightmare on Elm Street,” he believes he could get the beloved actor to come back to play Freddy. Even though Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, we know very little about its inner workings. Most of what we see of the planet are swirling vortex clouds in the upper atmosphere. While these clouds are really cool to look at, they do block our view of what’s underneath. Step aside Galactus- Jupiter may also have a taste for planets. New research has indicated the gas giant may have formed by eating baby planets.  In this new study, researchers were able to look a bit closer by using gravitational data collected by NASA’s Juno space probe. In honor of Juneteenth, Pharrell Williams hosted the annual Something in the Water Festival this past weekend. During the event, there was an NAACP panel focusing on the student debt crisis. The panel was held at the St. Regis hotel in Washington, D.C. where Williams surprised five student leaders with the news their loan debt was canceled.  “Pharrell forever changed their lives. Kim Kardashian has been accused of damaging one of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dresses. The famed “Happy Birthday” dress was loaned to Kardashian by Ripley’s. She wore it for a brief period of time at the 2022 Met Gala.  The decision for Kardashian to wear the 60-year-old dress has been controversial from the beginning. Some worried this would open the door for other wealthy elites to basically rent historic garments. There is no denying that Monroe singing “Happy Birthday” to former president John F. Zac Efron (“The Greatest Showman”) will be starring in a new film “The Iron Claw.” A drama from A24, the film is based on the lives of pro wrestling’s legendary Von Erich family. It is written and directed by Sean Durkin (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”). We know the film will follow “the story of the Von Erichs, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a great impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day.” The film’s title “The Iron Claw” is even a direct reference to the family.
