Host of the We're Watching What?! Podcast

Sounds like director Bong Joon-ho is in talks to direct Robert Pattinson in an adaptation of “Mickey7.” The Academy Award-winning director will take on the sci-fi tale about an expendable clone. The novel which it’s based on is set to come out this year. It sounds a bit like “The Martian” meets “Moon,” and we’re here for it. The novel is by Edward Ashton. Mickey7 (the clone to likely be played by Pattinson) is presumed dead. Therefore a new version is grown (Mickey8). However, it turns out Mickey7 is alive and kicking, and returns to base only to be confronted…

Take a look at Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway in Apple TV+’s WeWork series, “WeCrashed.” The Oscar winners star as WeWork husband and wife duo Adam Neumann and Rebekah Neumann. The Neumanns and WeWork have already been the subject of multiple documentaries and podcasts. The series is based on a Wondery podcast. Leto is back with an overly dramatic accent (similar to his recent turn in “House of Gucci”). Meanwhile, Hathaway is doing her best to channel the woo-ness that is Rebekah. WeWork the company was founded as a shared working space targeted at small businesses and freelancers. They sold…

Ever the busy bee, Murray Bartlett is joining the upcoming Hulu limited series about the founder of Chippendales, “Immigrant.” Bartlett will be playing Nick De Noia, the male revue shows’ producer / choreographer.  The series will focus on Chippendales founder Somen “Steve” Banerjee, being played by Kumail Nanjiani. Banerjee took some less than legal routes to bring Chippendales from a sketchy west LA endeavor to the globally recognized name it is today. De Noia was there to help out and of course participate in some of the questionable perks of the venture. De Noia was also infamously assassinated in his…

Full disclosure: “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania” is the first entry into this franchise >this< author has seen. Sometimes, we like to challenge ourselves by picking up a series part way through. Occasionally it concludes in a delightful result. Such as watching “Paddington 2” without having seen the first (which resulted in discovering the first one afterwards – which we cannot recommend enough). Or becoming obsessed with the “Fast and Furious” franchise even though we’d only seen 1 and 2, and then taking about a decade break and skipping to “Furious 7”… More often than not, the result is more masochistic than…

The fantastic and foul mouthed creators of “Big Mouth” are bringing us “Human Resources.” The animated spin-off will focus on the variety of non-human characters who we’ve come to know on “Big Mouth.” We’ll head to the headquarters of Mona and Connie the Hormone Monstresses (voiced respectively by Thandiwe Newton and Maya Rudolph). We’ll also have new additions Petra the Ambition Gremlin (voiced by Rosie Perez) and Keith from Grief (voiced by Henry Winkler). Additional voice cast for “Human Resources” who have also appeared in “Big Mouth” include: Jermaine Clement, Maria Bamford, Bobby Cannavale, Nick Kroll, Aidy Bryant, Randall Park,…

Pixar’s latest film “Turning Red” will now be releasing on Disney+. Originally intended as a theatrical release, the studio announced today that they’ll be moving it onto their digital platform.  This is the third Pixar film in a row to see a release via Disney+. Starting with “Soul” in 2020 and “Luca” in 2021. As sad as we are not to see this film get a theatrical release (it seems TBD if it will play simultaneously), we applaud the decision to prioritize getting great content out to as wide an audience as possible.  Like the other Pixar Disney+ releases, the…
