AMC has dropped a teaser for their new “Interview with the Vampire” series, based on the late Anne Rice’s works, just to get the blood flowing. Ahead of their San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) panel, they’ve given us just a glimpse of what’s to come.
The show is created by Rolin Jones, he’s probably best known for his work on “Weeds,” “Perry Mason” (the 2020 version), and “Boardwalk Empire.” Mark Johnson is serving as executive producer, and is best known for his work on “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Halt and Catch Fire.”
The first season of “Interview with the Vampire” will contain seven episodes, and “follow Louis de Pointe du Lac (played by Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass)’s epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality.”
We know the show is set in New Orleans, and we’ve seen glimpses of some of the characters we’ll meet. However this is the first time we’re getting a better look (and listen) to them.
In the teaser we get a brief glimpse at a light bathed du Lac and of course a shot of our actual interviewer Daniel Molloy (played in the 1994 version by Christian Slater, now Eric Bogosian for the series).
AMC will also be adapting Rice’s other works and bringing “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches” to the small screen. Jack Houston (“Boardwalk Empire,” “Ben-Hur“)stars as Lasher, with Alexandra Daddario (“White Lotus,” “Why Women Kill”) as Rowan Mayfair. We’re hoping for more vampiric announcements at their upcoming panel at SDCC.
“Interview with the Vampire” will premiere in the fall of 2022 on AMC and AMC+.
