Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

We are very pleased to report that PBS, the Public Broadcasting Service, will be airing both animated holiday classics “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” specials. This comes as a surprise, as earlier this year, AppleTV+ (who holds the rights for all Peanuts properties) announced the various holiday specials would be exclusively streamed from their platform, and not on any regular broadcast stations. PBS announced the news earlier today. “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be available in HD starting on November 18th for Apple TV+ subscribers, and will be available for free for anyone to watch from…

It’s been a hot minute or three since we’ve heard anything concrete about SHOWTIME’s upcoming live-action “Halo” tv series. Last we heard, come to think about it, was when Pablo Schriber was announced as playing Master Chief. The news we have now is that unfortunately Natascha McElhone (“Nip/Tuck,” “Event Horizon”), who was set to play Cortana and her creator Dr. Catherine Halsey in “Halo,” has exited the series due to various scheduling conflicts that have arisen with the still ongoing worldwide pandemic [WEAR YOUR DAMN MASKS]. Who’s replacing her you might ask? None other than Jen Taylor, who played Cortana…

Yet another STILL ONGOING worldwide pandemic [WEAR YOUR DAMN MASKS] casualty is the legendary annual celebration in New Orleans to ring in Mardi Gras with a parade, which the city has now officially cancelled for 2021.There are days when it truly feels like 2020 has stretched into a five-year nightmare. We keep thinking of the “Star Trek: Voyager” episode “Year Of Hell,” because that really sums up this particular calendar experience. Communications Director for New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Beau Tidwell, announced during a press conference yesterday the plans to outright cancel the parade. Tidwell said: “Parades of any kind…

Earlier this morning, Zack Snyder unveiled a new trailer for his upcoming director’s cut of DC Comics film “Justice League,” which will debut on HBO Max next year. The trailer is presented in black and white, which is a nice “artistic” touch. There was also a colorized version released on the official HBO Max YouTube channel if you want something less….dark. Starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Addams as Lois Jane, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as…

We are so delighted to share these amazing updated images directly from the official Disney Parks blog. Earlier today, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Josh D’Amaro took the virtual stage at the IAAPA Expo: Virtual Education Conference to update the public on what all the House of Mouse has been up to as far as new things coming to the parks. Perhaps the thing we’re the MOST excited about is these new images of the Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser hotel rooms! In a galaxy far, far away, progress continues at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, where guests will live aboard a…

Imagine if you will a modern witch (gender neutral term y’all), jumping on their broomstick and jetting off to get errands done. Pretty easy to picture, right? Let’s update that image….and add a scooter to the broomstick. Enter Vinícius Sanctus and Alessandro Russo from San Paolo, Brazil, and their amazing broomstick scooter. We’re pretty sure Russo is actually a Hogwarts (or Drumstrang or any of the other schools) professor. You’ve got to see the broomstick in action: Russo and Sanctus are hoping to bring the design to the world stage, with an initial price point of around $750.

Disney+ is revisiting another beloved animated series, rebooting the terror that flaps in the night- “Darkwing Duck!” Announced last week, the reboot is still in the early stages of development, with Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee possibly on board to produce. Darkwing Duck *does* currently appear from time to time on Disney+’s rebooted “Ducktales” (woohooo!) series, but there is no indication that this new Darkwing Duck will be that version. That’s pretty much all we know for sure so far, as Variety’s report was scant on details. You can watch classic “Darkwing Duck” episodes, only on…

We are delighted to share the news that Netflix has opted to renew the Steve Carell-led comedy “Space Force” for a second season! Take THAT, naysayers (and also the brand new branch of the American military of the same name). Sure, the comedy is a little deadpan, but it you enjoy comedy like “The Office,” then this is a show for you. Not to mention such a STELLAR cast- Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, Tawny Newsome, and Jimmy O Yang. Season one of “Space Force” is currently streaming, only on Netflix.

The passing of legendary tv personality Alex Trebek was something we were really hoping to avoid in 2020, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case, and the longtime host of Jeopardy lost his battle with pancreatic cancer earlier this month. While Trebek did film enough remaining episodes of the gameshow to last until Christmas 2020 before his passing, questions almost immediately arose as to who would be taking his place at the podium. Some betting sites have odds listed for notable persons, but this particular petition that launched over the weekend has to be one of our favorites. LeVar Burton, who…
