Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn spinoff, “Birds of Prey,” has become the latest high-profile movie to be selected for a state tax credit for filming in California. As Variety.com reports, The California Film Commission revealed that 19 feature films had been chosen for tax credits totaling $52.2 million. “Birds of Prey,” a DC Comics movie with Robbie reprising her Harley Quinn character, is due to receive the largest allocation, at $12.6 million. A TV reboot of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is in development at 20th Century Fox Television, Variety has confirmed. Variety reports that the original series creator Joss Whedon is onboard to executive produce, with writer Monica Owusu-Breen attached to write the script. Variety reports that Mattel is launching a line of “Mario Kart”-themed Hot Wheels cars next year, the toymaker told Mashable on Wednesday.
