Deadline reports that Margaret Dean, former general manager of Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and current president of Women in Animation, has been named head of studio for the new division. She’s charged with developing originals for both brands, including overseeing production for High Guardian Spice, the first Crunchyroll Original Series, slated to premiere in 2019. “Animation is a beautiful art form,” Dean said. “We think there are endless stories that can be told through animation.” Crunchyroll has co-produced over 50 series, including Kiznaiver, Classroom of the Elite, Space Patrol Luluco and Laid-Back Camp. Developing anime-inspired original content is the next step in its evolution, and it will operate production facilities in Burbank…

As reported by The Verge.com, Amazon is discontinuing its two-year-old video game preorder discount program for Prime members on August 28th, the company announced today. In its place, Amazon will offer members a $10 credit with a preorder, but only for select titles. The credit will take up to 35 days to arrive. Once activated, customers will have 60 days to put the money toward a separate purchase on Amazon. According to Comicbook.com, a new move found in Pokemon Go’s newest update hints that Beldum will be the focus of an upcoming Community Day event. Last week, Pokemon Go began rollout of its newest update, which adds several quality of life improvements and readies the game for a new Special Research quest involving the Mythical Pokemon Celebi. Game developers also added several visual assets tied to the move “Meteor Mash,” which currently isn’t available in the game.
