TODAY IS THE DAY, FREMEN. The first trailer for the upcoming Denis Villeneuve-directed adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s seminal work of science fiction, “Dune,” is here. Are you ready to travel aboard a Spacing Guild heighliner to Arrakis?

Yesterday, Legendary Pictures officially released a very short “Dune” teaser, which included two-time Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides reciting the Bene Gesserit litany against fear. It gave us the shivers in the best way possible.
Then THIS MORNING, the worldwide premiere of the official “Dune” trailer came from Warner Bros. Pictures, and we are so absolutely ecstatic.
The tailer release started with a cast cast hosted by Stephen Colbert. The trailer will be shown at the end of the chat.
GURNEY WILL PLAY THE BALISET!
But then….THEN. The trailer…
BEHOLD.
A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Starring Chalamet as Paul, Rebecca Ferguson as the Lady Jessica, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Zendaya as Chani, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Stellan Sarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as the Beast Raban, David Dastmalchian as Piter deVrys, Chen Chang as Doctor Wellington Yueh, Stephen McKinley Henderson as Thufir Hawat, Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Liet-Kynes, and Charlotte Rampling as Gaius Helen Mohiam.

Hans Zimmer is composing the score.
“Dune” is still set to hit theaters on December 18th, 2020.
