Turns out, the previously releases schedule of events isn’t completely accurate, as now we know the DC FanDome will be splitting into more focused pieces. We’re still getting the Saturday August 22nd event, but it’s being rebranded as the “Hall of Heroes,” and will focus on the DCEU films and upcoming video games. As host Aisha Tyler teases, the virtual stage area was designed by Jim Lee himself, and will feature panels, trailers, and goodies from across the Warner Bros. films. We are so so excited to share the newest round of casting announcements for Amazon’s upcoming “Wheel of Time” tv series! Just this morning, the series revealed who will be playing the Watcher of the Seals, the Flame of Tar Valon, The Amyrlin Seat. Sophie Okonedo (Hellboy 2019, “Doctor Who”) will be the leader Aes Sedai, and we seriously cannot wait for all the fish jokes and puns to come swimming in. We’re cautiously optimistic about the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures live-action adaptation of “Mulan.” With Niki Caro (“Whale Rider”) directing, we were automatically interested to see what the ancient Chinese legend would entail in a new version. If you’ll recall, it was announced earlier this month that the film, a multi-million-dollar production, would be skipping full theatrical release due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, after being delayed several times in 2020. Another day in 2020, another report that Walt Disney Studios REALLY thinks FOX’s “The New Mutants” will have an actual, honest-to-goodness theatrical release next week on August 28th.As of this morning, tickets for Josh Boone’s very late Marvel Comics X-Men spinoff flick went on sale, for a very hopeful fanbase. If you’ll recall, we were absolutely THRILLED to report that Ernest Cline has a sequel to “Ready Player One” coming out later this year titled, of course, “Ready Player Two.” The awesomeness doesn’t stop there, as it turns out Wil Wheaton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”) will be returning to narrate the audiobook. Part of what made the RP1 audiobook so enjoyable was Wheaton’s reading of it. He perfectly captured Wade Watts aka Parzival’s spirit in the story.
