We are so beyond thrilled to share the news that Hugo and Nebula award winner Charlie Jane Anders’ “Victories Greater Than Death” is getting adapted! Amazon Studios is partnering with Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society to turn the novel into a tv series. Per Deadline, Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo will executive produce via Outlier. It’s officially Spooky Season, and that means the return of Spirit Halloween stores across the nation. We’ll admit, the seasonal shopping options (at least in parts of California) haven’t had much to offer. A visit to Target, CostPlus, and Joann resulted in nothing more than candy and pumpkin-flavored treats. Not that we’re complaining about anything pumpkin flavored, but where are the decorations!? The skeletons, the pumpkins, or the spiders?! True, Home Depot has an AMAZING collection of large-scale outdoor items, but we’re missing the Martha Stewart stuff. This just in-it would appear that Amazon Prime Video is working on a live-action “She-Ra” series right now!DreamWorks Animation will serve as an executive producer, according to Variety. This will be a stand-alone live-action project, not related to the current Netflix animated series. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news. Okay, whoever decided that Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” needed to be a Christmas tale, with serious “Die Hard” vibes- good job! That fits Jeremy Renner’s “Avengers” hero pretty damn perfectly. Needless to say, we were pretty pleasantly surprised this morning when Disney+ released the first trailer for their upcoming series. Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop alongside Renner’s Clint Barton is an excellent choice. Can we all agree that “Rogers: The Musical” needs to happen? On to the trailer! This just in- it would appear that Hayley Atwell, (“Agent Carter,” “Mission: Impossible- 7”) will be lending her voice to Netflix’s upcoming “Tomb Raider” anime series! Announced back in January, we do know that Tasha Huo will write and executive produce.We expect additional news to come before too long. Stay tuned.

We are sorry to say that one of our most anticipated films has been delayed. True, this is a project we weren’t expecting to see for some time, but any delay sucks. We’re gonna admit it- we completely forgot this animated “Aquaman: King of Atlantis” thing was coming from HBO Max. But this morning the streaming service arm of HBO released a trailer for it, and we love it!Imagine following around the King of Atlantis for a day on the job, and that’s what this is. This is a fairly strange bit of news. It would appear that Jim Gianopulos is leaving his position as Chairman and CEO of Paramount. His sudden departure means a new face in the role, Brian Robbins, who currently runs Nickelodeon. A Wall Street Journal report indicates Paramount as a studio may be looking to refocus. Obviously this week we saw the studio’s streaming service Paramount+ unveil more of their premiere franchise “Star Trek” tv plans, so we know that’ll remain an important focus.
