Elvira’s 40th Anniversary Special Coming to Shudder this Month!

The one and only Mistress of the Dark is returning to host a very scary, very special Halloween spooktacular! 2021 marks a pretty amazing anniversary for the host, who has been brought to life by Cassandra Peterson for 40 freaking years. Which, if you’ve seen her recently, is absolutely baffling. Whatever blood-bathing Elvira has been doing all these years is certainly paying off.

“It’s always tough turning 40, but what better way to mark the occasion than a one-night stand with Shudder, the spookiest of streamers? It’s going to be the ultimate Hallow-anniversa-ween bash, and you don’t want to miss it,” Elvira said in a statement.

Shudder’s GM Craig Engler said: “Elvira is a legend who’s been lighting up our screens and delighting fans for 40 years, and we’re honored to celebrate the ‘Queen of Halloween’s’ fantastic career milestone with her new ‘very special’ special, the perfect treat for Shudder members this Halloween season.”

Anyhow, Shudder will have the special available on Saturday, September 25th via Shudder TV (in the app), and on Shudder platforms and AMC+ starting September 27th.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
