If God created Arrakis to train the faithful, so too did Denis Villeneuve with his film “Dune.” We can say that with complete certainty after finally witnessing the visual blessing. It used to be that no amount of wishful thinking in the guise of headlines from outlets would resurrect a series. Try as they might, fans just can’t get Netflix’s Marvel series back. Okay so….we’re not sure we fully understand why in the world STARZ’ upcoming “John Wick” prequel series “The Continental” would pick this particular actor to lead the show, but…sounds like Mel Gibson will be that person. Denis Villeneuve is a huge fan of the works of Frank Herbert. We all know this. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker has made no secret of how “Dune” impacted his formative years, and how it’s been his passion project for decades.
