This is one of those projects that immediately peaked our interest when it was announced. Aaron Sorkin, one of our favorite writers, doing a day-in-the-life film about one of America’s most important television series from the 1950s- “I Love Lucy.” Starring two heavy hitters as Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem), “Being The Ricardos” aims to paint a picture for audiences of what things were really like for Lucy and Ricky during the absolutely grueling production on their CBS hit. We love the flashes of J.K. Simmons as William Frawley who played Fred Mertz, and Nina Arianda…
Netflix knows fans are anxiously awaiting the drop of upcoming live-action series “Cowboy Bebop.” They KNOW, and this morning’s video release absolutely proves that. True, we’ve gotten other glimpses and photos of this adaptation, but never so much ‘in character’ time with our three leads.Starring John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, this space Western focuses on three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. The series also stars Alex Hassell and Elena Satine. The action, the SETS (omg some of those ships in situ), the music! We seriously cannot freaking wait for this show. We’re getting 10 episodes of…
There is a code among online journalists, especially when you attend official premiere events well-before a film’s release. One in particular is adhering to studios’ requests to NOT SPOIL key elements or surprises. We all know how serious Disney-owned Marvel Studios is about this. Heck, Tom Holland alone has upped our knowledge of just how spoiler-police the powers that be are. So what happens when a journalist, representing one of the highest-lauded entertainment sites in the land, breaks this code?In a word? Nothing. Officially, that is.On Monday October 18th, Oscar winner Chloé Zhao’s “Eternals” had it’s world premiere at the…
Okay so….we’re not sure we fully understand why in the world STARZ’ upcoming “John Wick” prequel series “The Continental” would pick this particular actor to lead the show, but…sounds like Mel Gibson will be that person. Gibson will play new character Cormac. “The Continental” will now reportedly be a 3-part ‘event series.’ Thats…sort of all we know at this point, but we’ll keep you updated with information as it comes.
Denis Villeneuve is a huge fan of the works of Frank Herbert. We all know this. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker has made no secret of how “Dune” impacted his formative years, and how it’s been his passion project for decades. We know just how deep his love of all things Arrakis goes, and this includes David Lynch’s much-maligned 1984 version. We just want to say outright that we love Lynch’s film. A lot. It gets more right than not. We do understand the majority of issues naysayers have with it, but, on the whole, it remains the most accurate to the…
We still can’t believe we’re getting a second season of “Good Omens.” It’s like, a divine miracle, really. Considering the first season of Amazon Prime Video’s spectacular adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett’s work neatly concluded, a sequel seemed…too much to hope for. But, who are we to question such decisions? Especially with both Michael Sheen and David Tennant returning as angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley respectively. This morning, Sheen posted a wonderful tease that confirms cameras are indeed rolling on the project. Obviously this means a premiere date is at LEAST one to two years away. We’ll…
Yes, we’ve seen several trailers and teases for the upcoming 4th film in the “Ghostbusters” franchise. But this one is new! And international! And has more to do with original ‘buster Egon Spengler! Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things“), Mckenna Grace (“Captain Marvel“), and Logan Kim are the young stars, and they’ll be joined by Carrie Coon (“Fargo“) and Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man“), as well as original “Ghostbusters” stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is currently slated for November 10th, 2021.
We’ve been anxiously awaiting this bit of news from Rob Zombie since he first announced we was tackling one of his favorite classic tv series for a film adaptation. Zombie, ever the fan of things macabre, horror, and vintage, is adapting “The Munsters” for Universal Studios. He’s shown off teases of the set, blue prints of the iconic house at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, costumes, and as of this morning, who we’ll see as Herman, Lily, and Grandpapa! Shocking no one, Sheri Moon Zombie (Rob’s wife and frequent lead actress) will be playing Lily Munster. Jeff Daniel Phillips (another Zombie collaborator,…
We were kinda expecting this, honestly. Due to the ever-changing shift in production schedules (and the IASTE strike that almost happened today), Marvel Studios has announced some date shifts. These include such anticipated film releases as “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and others. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was March 25th 2022, but will now open May 6th 2022. “Thor: Love and Thunder” will now open on July 8, 2022. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will now open on Nov. 11, 2022. “The Marvels” will now open on Feb. 17, 2023. “Ant-Man and…
