Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Danny Elfman, legendary founder and frontman of Oingo Boingo as well as accomplished composer, took the stage over the weekend. Elfman is 68 years old, and performed shirtless for much of his set. He sounded (and looked) incredible! Coachella did live stream from each of the three days of performances. But sadly Elfman’s performances don’t seem to be on any of their three official channels on YouTube currently. So, to Twitter we go! There was “Batman” 1989! Elfman performed his iconic “The Simpsons” theme!…

As much as we would love great auteur David Lynch to revisit and remaster his 1984 version of “Dune,” we’re kind of glad it won’t ever happen. Sure, it gets rumored almost annually. Moreso now after Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 version was so critically lauded. But Lynch himself has confirmed, multiple times, it will never happen. Lynch famously butted heads with the powers that be throughout the process. Things like the weirding way fighting style? Yeah, that got changed because Lynch didn’t want “Kung-Fu on sand dunes.” But, that’s not the point. Most recently, the “Twin Peaks” creator waxed poetic about…
