Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Sometimes the story of how an actor got a role is almost more entertaining than the actual project. That’s not to say we’re expecting Dr. George Miller’s upcoming “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel to be anything but amazing. But…this adventure of getting Anya Taylor-Joy selected for young Imperator Furiosa with the help of filmmaker Edgar Wright? That’s a story we just have to know about!Miller was able to see an early cut of Wright’s newest film, “Last Night in SoHo,” which Taylor-Joy stars in. As it turns out, Wright was a key player in encouraging Miller to select the elfin…

It’s been a while since we heard anything about Disney+’s upcoming adaptation of Rick Riordan’s hugely popular Percy Jackson book series. After 2 luke-warm feature film attempts, things went quiet at Camp Half Blood. Back in 2020, the House of Mouse streaming service announced they had picked up the rights to Riordan’s book series, with the hopes of creating a tv show. Just this weekend, Riordan took to his personal blog to offer a pretty big series of updates on where things are at now. Director of the pilot! We know know that James Bobin (“Dora and the Lost City…

We hate to make the obvious joke, but it truly looks like “Fast & Furious” really is all about family. In this case, the connection between Vin Diesel and his goddaughter, Meadow Walker. Meadow is the daughter of the late “Fast & Furious” star Paul Walker.Earlier this month, Meadow got married. Her godfather was there to walk her down the aisle. Pretty heartwarming, not gonna lie. Congradulations to Meadow and her new husband, Louis Thornton-Allan.

We’re not sure how to tell you this, but there is absolutely a Zombie Captain America face character shambling through California Adventure at Disneyland in Anaheim. Okay okay yes, he’s specifically around for Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Bash happening right now, but, HE LOOKS AMAZING. If you’ll recall, episode five of Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” animated series on Disney+ focused on a perennial favorite- zombies. Namely, what if the world (heroes and all) was overrun with the undead? We see pretty much all the Avengers as zombies, but none so terrifying as Captain America with his shield. Apparently one of the…

We didn’t think it was going to happen, honestly, but we’re DELIGHTED to report that Apple TV+ has ordered a 3rd AND 4th season of “Mythic Quest!” Yes, we were waaaaay late to the party on this series. Today, it is the legend. “Dune Part One,” Denis Villeneuve’s retelling of Frank Herbert’s seminal work, finally hits US theaters and HBO Max. It’s been a very long journey for this production, and we’re so glad it’s finally releasing. Part of the recent chatter about the 2hour35minute long film has been focused on whether or not Warner Bros. Pictures would greenlight the second half. We’ve known for years the plan had been to split the first “Dune” novel into two parts, so this isn’t really a big surprise. This flick had been delayed by over a full year due to…
