Few things looked as Turbo as 80s anime. There was a beauty and grit that can’t be matched today with the digital aesthetic. Giant mech and space ships ran rampant in those days, and there was a mysterious romanticism that (at least for me) helped me imagine a better world. A world I’m still struggling to keep hold onto today. There’s something about 80s anime that keeps me grounded in fantasy like nothing else can. The music from 80s anime is also groundbreaking. Prior to the 80s, there was some cool 70s waka-chika from ‘Cutie Honey’ and ‘Lupin the Third’, sure. But…

A new report from CBR.com states that the news on Wednesday that Henry Cavill may hang up his cape and walk away from the role of Superman sent social media into overdrive, but a new report contends the purported dispute between the actor and Warner Bros. is “invented.” Citing unnamed sources, TMZ asserts there’s no actual conflict, because there’s no Superman film in active development. The outlet suggests that while Cavill believes he should be paid more for the role, and turned down the planned cameo in Shazam!, he hasn’t moved on from the Man of Steel. That explanation would certainly seem to align with the nebulous…

Nerdbot would like to thank SuBLime Manga for providing us with an advanced review copy of ‘Escape Journey Vol 1’ by Ogeretsu Tanaka.   Oh, ‘Escape Journey’…where do I begin with thee? Let’s start off by saying that I’m surprised this is Volume One of the series. I felt pretty confident that I knew what was going to happen next so the only reason to stick around is if you thought the M/M couple, Naoto and Taichi (first…
