KJ Apa (“Riverdale”) has been cast to play the band’s late lead singer, Bradley Nowell. This film will be directed and co-written by Justin Chon (“Blue Bayou”) with Bobby Hundreds. After years of waiting, Oscar-winner Mel Gibson’s 2004 film “Passion of The Christ” is getting a sequel. Jim Caviezel (“Person of Interest”) has confirmed that he will return to play Jesus in “Passion of the Christ: Resurrection.” Gibson is reportedly in Malta scouting filming locations with the production team, alongside meetings with government officials on the Mediterranean island. Last week, discount retailer Big Lots announced it was filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy. The chain believes that several economic factors are responsible for this including high inflation and interest rates. These two factors have caused consumers to overhaul how we shop. Looks like we are getting yet another version of “The Office.” The IP started out as a British comedy in 2001 starring Ricky Gervais that ran for two seasons. In March 2024, Amazon and YouTuber MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson) announced a collaboration on competition series “Beast Games.” The show had more than 1,000 participants compete for a $5 million cash prize. On September 16th, a class-action lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles on behalf of five unnamed contestants for the show, alleging “chronic mistreatment,” sexual harassment, and more.
