The late great Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim (“Into the Woods”) will be honored once again with a new revue “Old Friends.” It will star multi-Tony winner Bernadette Peters (“Annie Get Your Gun,” “Mozart in the Jungle”) in her West End debut, and Tony winner Lea Salonga (“Miss Saigon,” “Les Misérables”). This revue was devised by Cameron Mackintosh, and will be the third such devoted to Sondheim’s work. Fortunately, Mackintosh was able to consult with the late composer during the Covid shutdown. The show “was Steve’s idea, born during lockdown, when he suggested it was time (and we had plenty of…

There are very few universal truths but, 2+2=4, fire is hot, and NEVER look directly at a solar eclipse, are some good rules to follow. This is despite the many media outlets covering how to safely do so. Since that day, Google searches for “my eyes hurt” and “why do my eyes hurt” spiked. According to Google Trends data, these searches topped the same query traffic after…
Four-time Oscar nominee David Lynch (“Dune,” “Twin Peaks”) is still hoping his animated feature “Snootworld” will come to fruition. This is despite Netflix recently rejecting his fairytale pitch. In true Lynch fashion, he has said very little publicly about the film until recently. The History of “Snootworld” Lynch began to work on the project two decades ago with Caroline Thompson (“The Nightmare Before Christmas”), who penned the first and third acts of the script. Lynch scripted the second act and will produce the project, but is undecided on if he will direct. At one point he was eyeing up his…

Someone took calling themselves a “human trash can” just a bit too far in Sacramento, California.
