Around 1897, early film pioneer and moon hater George Méliès made the movie “Gugusse and the Automaton.” Unfortunately, like many early films, it soon became lost because of poor preservation practices at the time. Due in no small part to the notoriously volatile film stock used during the 1800s. Thankfully, the long-lost 45-second film has recently been recovered by The Library of Congress. It looks like Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” is going out with a bang for its 4th and final season. It’s just been confirmed that Molly Ringwald (“One Night Only”) will be joining the cast! Adult Swim diehards were already excited for the return of fan favorite Dethklok. Due to high demand, the band has added more dates to its upcoming tour! The “Amonklok Tour,” with Amon Amarth, will kick off in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 15th. The new dates added will have Dethklok hitting Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and San Diego. MGM+ is planning an 8-episode remake of the 1960’s western “The Magnificent Seven.” It’s just been confirmed that Matt Dillon (“Asteroid City”) will star in and executive produce the upcoming project. The new series is created by “Heroes” creator Tim Kring. Dillion will star as Chris Adams, the leader of a gang of seven gunslingers. Him and his crew become hellbent on protecting a group of innocent villagers from a mercenary land baron. Sony has had some major hits and some serious misses with its live-action “Spider-Man” extended universe. While the “Venom” franchise did extremely well, its success was drowned out by huge flops like “Madame Web,” “Kraven the Hunter,” and “Morbius.” But shockingly, the company is looking to give it another go. Series star and co-creator Johnny Knoxville has confirmed that “Jackass 5” will be the end of the franchise.  An impressive run considering it’s basically a bunch of people hurting themselves for over 25 years. Actor and filmmaker Luke Barnett (“The ‘Burbs”) is hard at work on their newest horror short, “Goodbye, Monster.” Now the production has partnered with the iconic Fangoria Studios for the upcoming film! “Goodbye, Monster,” stars Barnett and Kue Lawrence with vocal performances by Patton Oswalt and Tina Majorino.  Barnettboth writes and directs the compelling story of a 12-year-old boy and the monster under his bed. We have some big updates about Ryan Coogler’s (“Sinners”) long-awaited “X-Files” reboot. The pilot has officially been greenlit for Hulu, with Danielle Deadwyler (“The Piano Lesson”) set to co-lead.  Jennifer Yale (“The Copenhagen Test”) has also signed on as showrunner and producer. “X-Files” Reboot Coogler will be both writing and directing the pilot episode of the new “X-Files.”  Like its predecessor, it will follow two wildly different but highly decorated FBI agents. Time to aggressively one-up some butterflies with more episodes of “Reading Rainbow!” Sony has ordered 24 additional episodes of the beloved children’s series after a relaunch with Mychal Threets, aka Mychal the Librarian.  Emmy-winning producer Kristen McGregor (“Ms. Rachel”) will also be joining the show as executive producer and showrunner. “Reading Rainbow” is distributed by SPT, in collaboration with Michael Davies’ Embassy Row and Buffalo Toronto Public Media.
