Brian Duffield, Zach Cregger Developing a Movie Based on Siren Head

For the past few years, the internet mythos surrounding Siren Head has only grown in popularity. Created in 2018 by Trevor Henderson, the creature is a 40-foot-tall, emaciated being with two sirens for a head.

Now, Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You) and Zach Cregger (Weapons) are writing a movie based on the legend, with Duffield expected to direct.

After a bidding war between several studios, the package was nabbed by Warner Bros. Pictures in a multi-million dollar deal. Cregger will produce alongside Roy Lee and Andrew Childs for Vertigo Entertainment. Duffield will also produce under his Jurassic Party Productions banner, with  Scott Glassgold of 12:01 Films.

And what started as a drawing of a new cryptid has become a full-on phenomenon. It’s inspired YouTube animations, short films, and video games all created by fans. This will be the first attempt to bring life to Siren Head outside of the internet. Adding to the recent feeding frenzy studios are having for online content to adapt into big-budget features.

Thanks to the recent success of films like Backrooms, which also started as an online myth based on a photo of a real place. Now companies seek to replicate this formula in hopes of getting Gen Z back into theaters. Given that the industry has still never fully recovered since the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns barred audiences from cinemas.

The plot to Duffield and Cregger’s Siren Head is still under wraps at this time, and there is no set release window. We’ll keep you posted on updates as the project develops.
