To say that Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard sent shockwaves through the gaming industry is a profound understatement. There are a number of questions about what other moves Microsoft might make. Also, what Sony and Nintendo are going to do in response to this, and what’s going to happen to the number of controversies the current management of Activision Blizzard find themselves in. In 1987, “RoboCop” hit theaters and took them by storm. Director Paul Verhoeven’s satirical take on violence, gore, corporate greed, and the American criminal justice system was met with wonderful critical and financial success. It would seem though that the message of the film got lost along the way due to, ironically enough, corporate greed. All of the social commentary got thrown out the window when “RoboCop” got turned into a Saturday morning cartoon show in 1988. It also became a live-action Canadian television series in 1995, which you’ll soon be able to own on DVD and Blu-ray. Orion Pictures,…

The idea of finding a foreign object in your food is a horrifying notion. Few things can gross people out like a story about someone finding a hair, fingernail, bandaid, bugs, or dead animals in a meal. But as bad as many of those things sound, it can get worse. While not as gross as the aforementioned items, cleaning products can be far more dangerous. When a business like a restaurant has to rely on those chemicals to keep a sanitary work environment, great caution has to be taken to make sure those items are kept away from food and…

It happened to “Rugrats,” and now it’s happening to Arthur and his friends. The second-longest running cartoon in American history will be wrapping things up soon, but they’ll be going out in style. In a fond farewell to audiences that have grown up with them, the last four episodes of “Arthur” will feature the characters as adults. It’s a fitting way to say goodbye, considering that the show debuted in 1996. Those who watched it when it first debuted would indeed be adults right now, possibly with their own children watching the show. We reported in July of 2021 about…

Sometimes you really just have to “Beat It.” It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right, just beat it. But apparently neither a random guy in a green shirt or a Michael Jackson impersonator wanted to heed those words. I guess no one wants to be defeated so the two men decided to duke it out while bystanders decided to record the action. Because, let’s face it, sure there might be an ethical obligation to try to stop people from hurting themselves, but when else are you going to get a chance to watch an MJ impersonator show that he’s really,…

Schadenfreude. If you don’t know the term, it’s a German loanword, meaning there’s no single word we have in English that directly translates to it. It’s defined as deriving pleasure from another person’s misfortune. For obvious reasons it’s not exactly considered a wholesome thing for people to experience, but it happens to us nonetheless. There are times though, when the person or the situation is so contemptible or ridiculous, that when things fall apart, maybe it’s perfectly okay to let the schadenfreude flow through you. Such is the case with Logan Paul and his $3.5 million purchase of unopened Pokémon…

Take-Two Interactive may be the biggest name in video games you don’t think of by their actual name. Make no mistake though, you know them through at least two of their several subsidiary companies. One of them is 2K Games, publisher of “Bioshock,” “Borderlands,” the 2K Sports series, and “X-Com.” They’re also the parent company of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games. With all that already under their umbrella they’re about to add mobile gaming giant Zynga Inc. to the fold for the cost of $12.7 billion. Zynga is responsible for some of the most popular games to be found…

There are some weird fetishes out there, dudes; some weird fetishes. We’re not going to go into specifics on the spectrum of different kinks, but if the side hustle of Stephanie Matto is to be believed, then she’s making thousands of dollars farting into jars and selling them. Matto’s rise in popularity had her featured on “90 Day Fiancé: Before he 90 Days” and has continued on TikTok with her showing off her fart jar selling business. But I guess all good things must come to an end as apparently Matto’s gas is too much to bear, and a recent…

It’s not everyday that we cover sporting events on Nerdbot, unless it has to do with Quidditch or something. But it’s also not everyday that one of the biggest names in the NFL takes off half his uniform in the middle of the game, jumps around in the opponent’s end zone and then completely leaves the stadium. Those are the events that took place on January 2nd, 2022 when Tampa Bay wide receiver Antonio Brown had a meltdown, and potentially ended his career in the NFL. Despite his talent on the field, Brown has a history of controversy within and…
