Director Robert Eggers latest film “The Northman” is probably his most commercial piece to date, but also his least distinctive. Those familiar with his work on “The VVitch” or “The Lighthouse” should brace for a slightly more watered-down version of the auteur. That’s not to say this Viking epic is bad. The Continent just got a little more crowded as “The Witcher” season 3 announced 4 new cast members. Joining Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia will be Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, Hugh Skinner, and Christelle Elwin.  Amell most recently starred in Amazon’s “Upload” season 2. He’ll be playing Gallatin, the leader of guerrilla Scoia’tael from Nilfgaard.  Zhang stole the show in Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” as Xu Xialing. We found ourselves very torn about whether we should even see “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.” Growing up a lifelong “Harry Potter” fan, it broke our hearts to see JK Rowling continue to spout her bigoted views. Peter Ramsey is heading from “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” to a galaxy far far away. It was announced he’ll be directing an episode of the upcoming Disney+ series “Ahsoka.” Rosario Dawson is set to reprise her role as the live action Ahsoka Tano. We blame “Sonic the Hedgehog” for giving us actual expectations for the sequel “Sonic the Hedgehog 2.” Prior to the release of the first film, we were absolutely convinced it was going to be a disaster. “Squid Game” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has announced his next project – tentatively titled “Killing Old People Club.” At Cannes Series Writer’s Club, Hwang said he already has a 25-page treatment in the works.  Apparently, it will be “even more violent than ‘Squid Game.’” Based on the title, we’re hoping for a role for O Yeong-su. The full trailer for FX’s adaptation of “Under the Banner of Heaven” is here. You may have missed it during Sunday’s 94th annual Academy Awards because there were thinggggsss going on. It stars Academy Award nominee Andrew Garfield, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sam Worthington, Wyatt Russell, Rory Culkin, and Gil Burmingham. The limited series is based on Jon Krakauer’s true-crime book that covers a murder in Salt Lake Valley, Utah in 1984.
