Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

This just in-streaming service HBO Max apparently isn’t canceling EVERYTHING, because the “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon” is getting a second season. The truly surprising thing is this didn’t happen sooner, as a high fantasy drama series like this needs lots of lead time in production. “House of the Dragon” premiered last weekend to a whopping almost 10 million viewers, the highest premiere in HBO’s history. A renewal makes sense. “We are beyond proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished with season one. Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and…

We’ve known for sometime that Netflix was developing something in the “Bioshock” universe, having secured the rights back in February of this year. It turns out “Hunger Games” director Francis Lawrence, who is returning to Panem for prequel tale “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” will be helming the “Bioshock” film for Netflix. This story is developing…

We are still deeply heartbroken over the loss of a true American icon- “Star Trek: The Original Series” star Nichelle Nichols. She made waves as Lt. Uhura, communications officer aboard the first Starship Enterprise in Gene Roddenbery’s science fiction television series. She inspired generations of Black women (and women in general) to pursue careers in space, science, and technologies. She was kind, warm, and one hell of a singer and dancer. Nichols, like other members of the first “Star Trek” family, is being honored in a very special way, as befits a special lady. Her ashes, along with those of…

It’s been a long time coming, but Jeffrey Dean Morgan is officially joining “The Boys” in season 4. We’re not sure who he’s playing yet- everyone is being very tight lipped about that. But we CAN tell you he wants tights. If you’l recall, the “The Walking Dead” and “Supernatural” star had a Twitter exchange with “The Boys” showrunner Erik Kripike all the way back in 2020 about joining the show. One of Morgan’s onscreen sons from “Supernatural” has already joined the Prime Video series. Jensen Ackles made his debut as Soldier Boy, the first superhero in-universe, in season 3.…

The upcoming “Hellraiser” reboot featuring a female Hellpriest (aka Pinhead) has an official release date! We’ve been following the particular reboot, seeing as how the Clive Barker-created horror anthology film series is one of our favorites. Ever wondered what Jason Momoa would look like with giant ram horns? No? Just us? Ok well, then maybe you won’t enjoy this first look at his next project, “Slumberland.” Taking it’s cues from the classic “Little Nemo in Slumberland,” this film looks vastly lush. Based on the book by Winsor McCay, Francis Lawrence of “The Hunger Games” is directing, from a script by Michael Handelman and David Guion. Nemo (Marlow Barkley) discovers a secret map to the dreamworld of Slumberland, and with the help of an eccentric outlaw Flip (Momoa), with the hope that she will be able to…

We are so glad to know George Miller is back on the set of “Furiosa!” Earlier this month, production shut down due to Dr. Miller testing positive for covid. This was out of an abundance of caution, and cameras are once again rolling. “Furiosa” is a prequel tale about the Imperator before she joined Immortan Joe’s clan. It takes place before the happenings of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the warrior originally brought to life by Charlize Theron. Miller’s next film, “3,000 Years of Longing,” opens in theaters this weekend. Idris Elba stars as a Djinn,…

This just in-that long-gestating “Red Sonja” live action adaptation is still happening, BUT, there’s been some big changes. Originally being developed by Millennium Film with Bryan Singer involved (he’s not now, thankfully), the film was going to star Hannah John-Kamen (“Killjoys,” “Ant-Man and The Wasp”). Apparently that’s not happening anymore.  M.J. Bassett (“Solomon Kane”) will direct from a script by Joey Soloway (“Transparent”) and Tasha Huo (“Tomb Raider” on Netflix). We’ve also got a whole mess o’ cast announcements, including who will star as Red Sonja. Millennium Media has revealed Matilda Lutz (“Medici,” “Revenge”) will play the Red She-Devil. She’ll be joined…
