Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

At long last, the first official images of Jamie Clayton as the Hellpriest, aka Pinhead, have been released. The upcoming “Hellraiser” film does have original creator Clive Barker on board as a producer, with David Bruckner directing. “Clive’s been very involved,” says Bruckner. “Clive came on before the shoot, when we were in prep, and was really just a wonderful resource for me. He was really generous with his time, and very welcoming of the idea that this was a new group of artists, and that they were going to run with this and land in different places with it.…

Also, the “Star Wars” universe hasn’t exactly been without projects, either. Some little releases like “The Mandalorian,” “Book of Boba Fett,” “Obi Wan…

A bit of a he-said-he-shot conundrum has recently come to light concerning a million-dollar auction item. Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster, used by Harrison Ford in the iconic “Star Wars” films, recently sold at auction for a very high price tag. But, it may not be what the buyer thinks it is. According to experts, this particular item, which was listed by Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) as “the sole surviving example” of the prop, is NOT a hero item, minus one part. In a press release written after the blaster sold for a whopping $1.057 million this past weekend, RIAC…

We can absolutely appreciate a good deepfake around here- especially if it’s well done. Okay fine, even when it’s NOT well done. Sometimes the use of this particular technology begs us to ask why- DEAR GODS, WHY. Like this one that’s been making the rounds again. May we present “Pretty Woman,” but starring Willem Dafoe instead of Julia Roberts. Dafoe is one of those actors who is capable of pretty much anything. Creepy? Check. Suave? Check. Something of a scientist? Double check. But, did you EVER think you’d see him…singing Prince in the bathtub? Yeah, only in our strangest fever…

We do want to say that while this isn’t concrete yet, it does seem likely Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four” has found it’s director. Most recently Jon Watts, who directed the trio of “Spider-Man” films starring Tom Holland, was in the hot seat. But, considering he *did* just complete a fairly sizable trilogy for Marvel Studios, he decided to turn down the project. During SDCC 2022, Kevin Feige revealed the “Fantastic Four” was going to kick off Phase Six of the MCU, along with a release date. But no information about casting or a director has been confirmed.
