It’s been four years since the galaxy lost of the great heroes, Carrie Fisher. Rebel, Princess, writer, General, advocate, mother- she was all these things and more. Her presence is still felt, even moreso than her absence at times. This morning, fellow “Star Wars” icon Ming-Na Wen shared the most perfect Carrie Fisher convention story, complete with photos, and we can’t help but love both of them even more. Wen writes: I am forever thankful to Dallas Comic Con 2015 for putting my signing booth next to Carrie Fisher. When she arrived, I was so excited I announced her. I…

This just in, According to a Sunday morning news drop (what? that NEVER happens!), it sounds like Warner Bros. Pictures is officially eyeing a third “Wonder Woman” film, with director Patty Jenkins. Warner Bros. Pictures Chief Toby Emmerich said in a statement about the news: “As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able continue her story with our real life Wonder Women – Gal and Patty – who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy.” This isn’t really surprising. It is,…
Sideshow Collectables, those masters of the maquette arts, just announced the next Marvel character coming to their already impressive lineup of figures. He’s someone we’ve been waiting to see properly portrayed in the live-action realm, the main foil for the Fantastic Four- Doctor Doom! Of course Sideshow didn’t have any details about him yet, or any concept art to share. Just a title card, and an RSVP list. But, we can imagine a few of you would wanna know about this figure to make room on your shelves.
We are very pleased to report that Netflix has ordered a 4th season of their metal-singing-office-working raccoon anime, “Aggretsuko!” It’s one of our favorites to have on in the background, and not just because >this< author identifies with Retsuko. The news was announced by Netflix on the 23rd of December, with this adorable and rage-filled Santa art. Seasons 1-3 of “Aggretsuko” are available to stream, only on Netflix.
Legendary entertainer and controversial figure Michael Jackson owned a sprawling estate named Neverland Ranch. Chances are you’ve heard about it throughout the latter years of Jackson’s life, or from the 2019 devastating documentary, “Leaving Neverland.”Neverland Ranch, a 2,700-acre property near Santa Barbara, had been on the market since 2016, and had an unsurprising price tag of $100 million. The estate was finally just purchased, for a cool $22 million, by billionaire Ron Burkle. It’s worth noting that Jackson payed around $19.5 million when he purchased the property way back in 1987. Burkle was reportedly an associate of sorts of Jackson. He…
We’re pretty jealous that the Bay Area, which not only got a monolith appearance earlier this month, ALSO got one on Christmas, made entirely of gingerbread! If you missed the strange affair of the metal monoliths appearing all over the world, you can read about the first ones here. BUT THIS ONE, made of tasty delicious seasonal treat gingerbread, appeared on Christmas morning in Corona Heights Park. We’re kinda hoping this continues a fad.
Our fine neighbor to the north is also dealing with some crazies when it comes to vaccines and the STILL ONGOING DEADLY WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC. Seriously. It’s been how many months now and some idiots STILL think it’s ‘not that bad,’ or a hoax? In anycase, Canada is also having to deal with protesters who aren’t getting what exactly is at stake- questioning the relationship of a vaccine that could save your damn life vs government control. Yeah. Sounds insane, right? Enter this group of *geniuses [editor’s note: this is sarcasm, kids] who decided to don white hazmat suits and face…
2020 has been a crazy 84 years, right? If the last several months haven’t been ridiculous enough, on Christmas Day, failed Presidential hopeful candidate (man, the face we made trying to write that) Kayne West just released a “surprise” Christmas album titled “Emmanuel.”There is so much to dissect in that sentence alone. Remember when West decided that trying to add his name to the actual Presidential ticket for the 2020 election was a viable idea? Yeah. That is totally a thing we have lived through. “Emmanuel” has five tracks, and is described as as “ancient and Latin inspired new music,” featuring…
We have to say, this is one of the cutest behind-the-scenes things we’ve seen from “The Mandalorian” season 2 set. Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, who directed season 2 episode “The Tragedy,” just treated us to an adorable video.Rodriguez, avid chef and musician, of COURSE brought his guitar to set, and just happened to serenade Baby Yoda aka Grogu between scenes. We can’t wait to see what Rodriguez and co get up to with “The Book of Boba Fett.” Don’t forget, Rodriguez will be one of the executive producers on the upcoming Boba Fett spinoff series. The behind the scenes series Disney…
