Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

The still-ongoing pandemic has effected us all in a lot of ways, and even beloved tv personalities like SpongeBob SquarePants and co haven’t been immune. Enter the Pineapple Playhouse! Its a web series of shorts focusing on puppet recreations of popular SpongeBob SquarePants episodes to tide fans over til the show eventually returns, and also to give the various creatives a chance to do what they do best. This week’s episode? The “SpongeBob SquarePants” meme generating classic- “Can You Spare A Dime?” Squidward quits his job at the Krusty Krab after Mr. Krabs accuses him of stealing his very first dime. Luckily his…

Imagine your football team has just won the big game in your division. You held off your rivals to lead 42-28, meaning the Duke’s Mayo Bowl crystal trophy is yours to hold. So, you do what any victorious player does- dance around with it in the locker room. Only problem? You freaking drop it, and the damn thing shatters on the ground while you’re teammates film the entire thing. [Photos courtesy of the Wisconsin Badgers] This is what happened to University of Wisconsin’s Badgers following the 2020 Duke’s Mayo Bowl win against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Quarterback Graham Mertz is…

There are few things in this world I personally love more than to see CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper get hit with an uncontrollable giggle fit. It’s pure, it’s adorable, and it’s oftentimes infectious. The best one will always be Cooper’s tackling of French actor Gerard Depardieu’s unfortunate decision to pee into a water bottle on board a plane. Remember that? Back in 2011, it was one of the most ridiculous things to be reported on. *sigh* Oh, the good ol days. Seriously, watch Cooper try (and fail) to get through the script, filled with puns and terrible but wonderful…

2021 is upon us, and Sony Pictures is already teasing one of their big film projects. This morning, the official Twitter account for the upcoming live-action adaptation of video game “Uncharted” shared four new images, teasing the treasure hunting adventures of Nathan Drake. Tom Holland will be playing Drake, Ruben Fleischer (“Venom”) is directing.  Mark Wahlberg is playing Sully, Nathan’s mentor and longtime friend. Antonio Banderas is also on board, as well as Sophia Ali, and Tati Gabrielle. The 4 images from this morning totally have an “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” vibe, with the cross and all. Maybe this means…

My household has been trying to marathon as much of “The Office” as possible before it left Netflix for the newly launched NBC streaming service, Peacock. We tried, we failed, and this morning we suddenly remembered the saga of Dunder Mufflin and associates was no longer on our usual go-to platform. The move makes sense, considering “The Office” (US version) was an NBC show to begin with, so why would it NOT be one of the anchor series of their service? Along with “Battlestar Galactica,” “Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock,” and surprising addition “Downton Abbey,” Peacock wants to be a…

First and foremost, if you HAVE NOT WATCHED “The Mandalorian” season 2 finale yet, you REALLY, really, need to. Especially if you’re going to continue to read this particular piece, because we’re going to share what Mark Hamill had to say about it. Seriously. Spoiler Warning. Still here? Even with that spoiler warning? Ok then….If you’ll recall, in the season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” a surprise “Star Wars” hero returns with a green lightsaber. The addition of Luke Skywalker, played once again by Mark Hamill (but with a highly divisive CGI skin over the face), caused fans to collectively…

2020 is just about to end, and it’s safe to say that Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, remained one of the most popular characters. From memes to toys, costumes to snowflake patterns, “The Mandalorian” star was everywhere. It was only a matter of time before someone, in this case Twitter user Djarinsoka, complied all the clips of Grogu’s adorable baby noises into one video. Needless to say, it’s a fairly pleasing 59-seconds of audio joy. “The Mandalorian” seasons 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Disney+ now.

This may be the strangest bit of news we write today, but it’s still kind of awesome! Legendary director Richard Donner dropped a bit of news recently about a long-standing franchise he’s highly aquainted with- “Lethal Weapon.” Namely that the 91-year old director, who is NOT “too old for this s***t,” will be helming a 5th and final installment of the comedy series. While speaking to The Telegraph (behind a paywall, sorry), Donner (“Superman” 1978, “Superman II” 1980) confirmed the news of a 5th “Lethal Weapon” film, and that he would indeed be directing it. “This is the final one.…
