Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

This just in-that long-gestating “Red Sonja” live action adaptation is still happening, BUT, there’s been some big changes. Originally being developed by Millennium Film with Bryan Singer involved (he’s not now, thankfully), the film was going to star Hannah John-Kamen (“Killjoys,” “Ant-Man and The Wasp”). Apparently that’s not happening anymore.  M.J. Bassett (“Solomon Kane”) will direct from a script by Joey Soloway (“Transparent”) and Tasha Huo (“Tomb Raider” on Netflix). We’ve also got a whole mess o’ cast announcements, including who will star as Red Sonja. Millennium Media has revealed Matilda Lutz (“Medici,” “Revenge”) will play the Red She-Devil. She’ll be joined…

Yes, we already have a wonderful album from Depeche Mode called “Sounds of the Universe.” But back in May, NASA publicly released actual audio recordings from a black hole, meaning we actually HAD sounds from the universe. Earlier this week, NASA dropped the hottest interstellar remix, and we are absolutely adding it to our Halloween playlist.”In this new sonification of Perseus, the sound waves astronomers previously identified were extracted and made audible for the first time. The sound waves were extracted in radial directions, that is, outwards from the center,” researchers said of the initial recording’s release. “The signals were…

We’re still struggling to write our review of HBO’s newest high fantasy drama series, “House of the Dragon.” The “Game of Thrones” prequel series is set 172 years before those stories, and we’re not really sure why this period of Westeros history was chosen. Sure, it’s the level of production we’ve come to expect from HBO- minus cars, water bottles, and coffee cups. These Targaryen wigs actually look…good? Like actual hair rather than some real Party City stuff? We digress. According to HBO, “House of the Dragon” has set a premiere record, for both the traditional cable channel, and streaming…

We are returning to The Moon, and no matter how you try to dress that statement up, you can’t. Excitement doesn’t BEGIN to describe it. Pride at what the human race can do when we come together for something greater than the individual reasons? Yes. Earlier today, NASA confirmed Artemis I has passed all tests, and has been cleared for a launch. You can watch the press conference here.A two-hour launch window will open at 8:33am (EDT) on Monday August 29th from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Pad 39B in Florida.

Imagine you are the daughter of Idris Elba. Imagine also that you, as her, auditioned to play Elba’s daughter in a movie. Embarrassingly enough, you don’t get the part. How in the world didn’t you get cast? Seriously, you’re literally his daughter. This actually happened! Isan Elba auditioned to play Idris’ daughter in the recently released film “Beast.” She didn’t get the part, and apparently didn’t speak to her dad for 3 weeks because of it. “She wants to be an actress and she auditioned,” Elba told The Breakfast Club. “And you know, it came down to chemistry in the…
