BURBANK, Calif.–Jan. 16, 2019– Top-ranked Nickelodeon has named Paul DeBenedittis to the role of Executive Vice President of Programming and Content Strategy. The announcement was made today by Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins, to whom he will report. DeBenedittis will be based in Nickelodeon’s Burbank, Calif., studio. Last week it was announced that in addition to the new Picard Show and adult animated show Star Trek: Lower Decks that Michelle Yeoh will be getting her own spinoff series from Discovery. Fox has announced that with the aquisition of the properties by Disney that they will not be moving forward on any of the X-Men or Fantastic Four films that they had planned. Netflix announced today that a price increase was to go into effect. This increase would begin immediately for new users of the service and roll out over the next three months for people already subscribed. Basic Service was $7.99 and went up to $8.99. That plan allows you to stream to one device in SD and lets you download to one device. The old model had the Standard plan at $10.99 a month and has gone up 18% to $12.99.
