Netflix is adding to one of its most popular series, “La Casa de Papel” (aka “Money Heist”), with the prequel series “Berlin.” The original series ran for five seasons from 2017 until 2021. It centered around an unusual group of robbers as they attempt to carry out the most perfect robbery in Spanish history, by stealing €2.4 billion from the Royal Mint of Spain. Sam Esmail’s (“Mr. Robot”) new AppleTV+ series “Metropolis” will not be moving forward. The series was an adaptation of the iconic Friz Lang-directed film of the same name from 1927, which was based on a novel by Thea Von Harbou from 1925 about a futuristic urban dystopia. Actress Linda Hamilton is joining the cast of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” for its 5th and final season. The streamer made the announcement during a fan event in São Paulo, Brazil. There are currently no details on what role Hamilton will be playing. Disney+ released the documentary “Stan Lee” about the life of the Marvel Comics icon. While Lee claimed to be the visionary co-creator behind a large portion of the Marvel Comics canon, those claims have been repeatedly contested by both the late Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and their estates. Kirby passed away in 1994, while both Ditko and Lee passed in 2018.
