Sir Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic “The Odyssey” is the very first film shot for IMAX on the manufacturer’s newest model of camera. These new cameras have officially been named The IMAX Keighley in honor of David and Patricia Keighley.  David was IMAX’s first chief quality officer, who sadly passed away earlier this year. His widow, Patricia, is also one of IMAX’s top chief quality officers. The couple has been invaluable in perfecting and populating the large-format film. We have another exciting cast announcement from Amazon MGM’s live-action “Tomb Raider” series. Jason Isaacs (“The White Lotus”) has joined the cast! While his role at this time is unclear, he’ll be starring alongside Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones”) as Lara Croft. As reported earlier this month, it seems that Sigourney Weaver is still in talks to star in another unspecified role. The plot of the series is currently being kept under wraps. Are you ready for some Tom Cruise (“Top Gun: Maverick”) style laughs? The upcoming comedy, “Digger,” starring Cruise and directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (“The Revenant”), just got its first poster and teaser trailer. Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment have also slated the project for an early October 2026 release. “Digger” is co-written by Iñárritu, Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris, and Sabina Berman (“Macho”). The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been airing the annual Academy Awards show, the Oscars, on ABC for decades. It’s been no secret the Academy was shopping the prestigious awards show around to other platforms.  It’s been confirmed that YouTube will have global rights to the Oscars, beginning in 2029, starting with the 101st ceremony. Universal Studios’ upcoming theme park in the UK has just made a huge step towards becoming a reality. The park has been given planning permission to start developing the site located in Kempston Hardwick, close to Bedford. The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities, and Local Government has officially issued a Special Development Order (SDO) for the complex to be built. The new park is expected to draw more than 8 million visitors a year. Dave Callaham (“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”) is writing the script with Michelle Rejwan producing.
