“Ready Player Two” Synopsis Released for Ernie Cline’s Sequel

We are SO READY to go back into the OASIS created by author Ernie Cline in his “Ready Player One” universe with the official sequel novel, “Ready Player Two,” due out next month.

Seriously. We cannot WAIT for this.

In particular- I’ve been interviewing Cline since his first book tour for RP1, wherein we spoke about how amazing it would be if the story ever got made into a movie, let alone one from freaking Steven Spielberg. And, of course, if he had any plans for additional tales in the universe (spoiler- of COURSE he did).

Just today, publisher Penguin Random House officially released the synopsis for RP2, and we’ve just got to share it:

AND for even more RP1 and RP2 goodness, a panel from NYCC 2020 today with both Cline AND Wil Wheaton, who will again be reading the audiobook.

You can watch that panel here.

“Ready Player Two” will release on November 24th from Penguin Random House. You can order your copy here.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
